Hmm, perhaps I didn't phrase it well enough.

What I meant was, not the cards that gain the most from upgrading, but those which are used the most in common decks and which are difficult to win from False Gods - in other words, which are the best to spend 1500 electrum on.

For example, Improved Mutation has a large advantage over Mutation, yet it is used in very few decks.

The Cremations, although the advantage isn't so great, are still used in many decks, hence why they are a good upgrade choice.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

I have to concur with Omega, as i so often find myself doing.  Hourglass goes from (in my opinion) one of the least usable cards in a rainbow to one of the best cards in a rainbow.  And, it is a staple in many rainbow decks.

I would like to disagree to some extent.

FGing gives faster cash to upgrade for the thinking and adaptive player which starts out with nothing. Hourglass is the best option to speed up the cash flow so you can start getting cards. One definition of best you mentioned was *cards hard to win*, that would make Devonian dragon or Holy light an excellent choice.

- Well if you want a straight answer for this, the kinds of cards that are not easily winnable and often needed are pillars and pendulums.

What about a Phoenix?  The minor Phoenix is a huge jump in playabilty compared to an unupped phoenix.

- Supernova
- Animate Weapon
- Graboid
- 3x Explosion

Why? Because in a PVP event when you play in a limited upped enviromnment (i.e. War, Booster Draft), these come most handy.

I agree that the hourglass is one of the best because it’s a card that fits in nearly every rainbow-deck. it was the first card I upgraded and it helped me a lot. But is it maybe to easy to get one from FG´s ? Its in some of their decks but I didnt earn it from them yet.

Vampire dagger is a good choiche too... at cost of only 2  :darkness take 6 vampire damage every turn... in combo with crusader is a very good choiche (especially upgraded crusader, is 3|5 instead if 2|4 and endow costs only 2  :light instead of 3  :light)

Besides QT and SN and any others mentioned in this thread:

Pulverizer: -1 cost for :gravity is huge for Rainbows, especially if they have Otyughs.
Sundial: Goes from 1 cost to 0 Cost and can be used in any deck (even better in ones that have :light)

maybe, but this screws with the auto-mulligan

now, my choices would be (trying to avoid the ones already said)
> Hourglasses
> Lobotomizer
> :aether and :death Recluses
> Frogs (maybe)
> Phoenix (though i'd still keep 6 copies unupped)
:fire Dragons
