Mindgate/Nightmare combo https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=13584.msg171044#msg171044

I just discovered a rather unusual way to infini-stall your opponent while farming t5. Unfortunately, there's absolutely no way I can think of to actually set this up since it relies on your opponents deck, but it's very useful if you happen to get lucky with it.

My opponent (morofuze, I think? Death/poison, anyway) happened to have a nightmare on the top of his deck when I used a mindgate. I used my nightmare to give him a whole hand of creatures he couldn't play (amber nymphs, in this case). This meant he didn't draw, so the nightmare was still on top for me to mindgate again. And so on, ad infinitum. He was unable to play a single card for the rest of the match.

Obvious problems for this: Since it relies on your opponent having a nightmare on the top of his deck, you can't actually set this up, only take advantage if you happen to get lucky. Also, it wouldn't work on FG's, since they draw two cards per turn. Finally, since I happened to have an amber nymph out, I could guarantee he'd never get enough quanta to play a card; if I'd been playing a rainbow deck without that nymph, he'd have eventually been able to play some cards.

If anyone can think of a way to get around that first problem, though, I think it'd be fun to experiment with this a bit.

Also, it wouldn't work on FG's, since they draw two cards per turn.
Actually you're bit wrong saying that. The maximum amount of cards in hand is always 8, and for that reason FG's draw 2 cards only if they have 6 cards or less at the beginning of the turn. If FG has 7 cards in hand it can draw only 1. And the 8 cards in hand after Nightmare always prevents drawing cards.

the problem isnt FG draw 2 cards per turn, the problem is that no FG has Nightmare in their deck (as of now)

as i've said in the other thread, as great as mindgate+nightmare lock is, it is NOT a combo
combo by nature disregard whatever your opponent play and just focus on getting the combo pieces to go off
having to rely on a specific card in your opponent deck is purely luck base
nothing more

My apologies for the duplicate thread. I admit that I only did a basic scan of the threads before posting, and did not see the other.

Having played a few more FG's, I think I was mistaken about it being Morofuse. There is, however, a false god with nightmare. I will update this post when I find it again.

There is no False God with Nightmare; Halfbloods, yes, but not False Gods.

1. You don't mean False God. You mean Half Blood.
2. Morofuze is death/fire. Mono death (what I assume you meant by death/poison) is Mortis. You didn't fight him either because nightmare is a darkness card. o_o.
3. Funny when you get it set up, too bad it's so rare to manage to do so :/.

Basically, yet another reason to never play nightmare.
