Guilds: Become part of the journey!

Hello hello my fellow Elements fanatics!

As you may or may not have noticed, we have 2 new Guildmasters as part of the forums, n00b and I. ^_ ^
We have been keeping ourselves busy tossing ideas back and forth in the detailed and intricate designing of Guilds. Naturally I assume that you guys are anxious for this new part of the community, and here is your chance to become part of the journey to Guilds! But first, spoilers with no spoiler tag!

Guilds, groups of dedicated and active members will through their actions earn Guild Points, GP which will be used to purchase innovative and exciting rewards that will not be limited to just the forums! Though we have ideas of rewards that can be purchased for Guild Points, we would like to hear the voice of the masses and the ideas of the creative.

So if you have any ideas feel free to post them! The GP amounts n00b and I will manage, the economic system is still under construction. Also, if you have any questions about Guilds feel free to post those as well!!! We may not be able to answer everything at the moment, but we will do our best to clear doubt or at least come up with an answer. c:

I guess that guilds will fight each other and/or be ranked, hence the following question : will there be an incentive for acceptation of young players (not to say noobs) in order to prevent "Da Guild Of Ol' Veterans Only" to be an undisputed number one ? This could take the form of a penalty for not accepting new players, for instance.

How tightly will forum games be integrated in the guilds system? Can I suggest games that interact with guild stuff (IE shifting around GP, guild-based teams, etc.)?

Well, the idea of guild points to purchase things certainly sounds interesting!  It'll probably be enough to motivate me to join, and I hadn't originally been planning on participating in guilds when I first saw the idea, but the incentive should bring me around

I don't know what kinds of things you had in mind for purchasing with guild points, but I suppose the standard reward codes would be possibilities, as well as things like upgrade or rare cards, or things like foil art cards, or even things like pimped out playmats or getting to use mark images from the hybrid mark thread or that sort of thing.  In terms of purely forum-based things, there's always stuff like buying increased PM space, larger signatures, and the like.  (I know I'd like to have a larger signature... :p)

And yeah, as Marsu asked, I'd be interested in knowing how the guilds will be structured.  Will there be 12, one for each element, or will anyone who wants be able to create a guild, or something else?

edit: Oh, and maybe extra oracle spins could be bought, too   I like when the fat man gives me pretty women.

Mind sharing these ideas? We're basically shooting in the dark for ideas that may have already been shot down, or ideas that have already been secured.

How under construction? Is it just that there will be an economic system? What kind? How will it relate directly to the people who lead the guild and the people who populate it? Right now it's just smoke and no fire.

The Guild System will definitely have incentive to include forum members of all post counts; from those with 30 to those with 3000. We are going to promote 3 things, activity, teamwork and diligence. Being a known member of the community may come with a reputation however it will essentially mean nothing in the mechanics of Guilds and we definitely encourage newer members to participate and shine, as everyone will get a fair chance!

Guilds will be rewarded through forum activity. Rewards will be gauged according to difficulty and time investment. I'd say it's safe to start designing games around the GP system and Guilds, but be warned that Guildmasters and the Forum Game Organizer still have some things to discuss.

We don't want to reveal too much about this yet, but until, and if we come up with another system we will be using a system of an even number of Guilds with 1 leader per Guild.

The only ideas you shouldn't post are the ones that people have already posted here. The main idea is to hear suggestions from the community without revealing rewards too soon! Part of the excitement will be the wait, and it will be worth it. c:

Keeping in mind that Guilds are an idea that are really new in general, I'd say there isn't even smoke! As we are still deciding the sources of GP and estimating how often Guilds will be able to access these amounts we need to ensure that rewards aren't too easily purchased and that they aren't impossibly far either. Also, the GP amount will be the Guild's to manage, and ultimately one leader will have the final say in all GP decisions.
