The following attack deals spell damage, yes. It deals spell damage for just that one attack, though.

(Very late edit: Yes, one attack, not the player's entire turn; if you try to cast Adrenaline on Seraph, have him (it?) use Divine Shield, then cast Shard of Wisdom on him (must be done in that order), only the first attack deals spell damage; the next one deals physical damage.

You can try that yourself with an unupped Seraph. (An upped one will have 16 attack after one SoW, upon which Adrenaline won't have any effect))

Yes, for 1 turn. If you use the Seraph's ability again it will lose the spell damage effect.

Yep.

Being invulnerable is a status effect (like frozen and delayed, see it by mousing over a card). Phase Dragon and Immortal are given the status effect upon play via the active ability "immaterial". The SoW mechanism makes perfect sense. The problem lies with the wording on cards with Immaterial; "Immaterial: Elite Phase Dragon cannot be targeted.".

zanz has been consistent with not updating card text even when changes demand it. The reasoning is probably to keep it as simple as possible and leave some things to be learned through exploration. Most players will always think "oh, I can't kill that directly", which is what the card text aims to tell you. With experimentation, you'll find out tons and tons of hidden mechanics of the game, which gives it incredible depth. Some people like that, others want everything laid out before them.
