Anti-fun PvP "troll" decks - Problem? https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=25753.msg328330#msg328330

Question is whether certain decks are just horrible and frustrating to play against in PvP and whether those decks particular combination of cards should be nerfed/changed in some way so as to alleviate this. In other words - change the game to make PvP "more fun". Example deck below (post more you hate if you like)

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5bt 5f2 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5ul 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 711 74g 7n9 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q5 7q5 7q5 7q5 7qb 80b 8pj

I used to love this deck, but having used it extensively in PvP I've seen a lot of people commenting on how much they hate it.
This makes me sad inside - making using this deck less fun for me (one of the original points of the deck was that my opponent would get EM if I didn't win)
These comments are really turning me off using the deck - which is disheartening since I put a lot of work and enthusiasm into it.

Frustration being that players would be stall locked, know what was coming and have to sit through it.
P.S. - I am sorry if all this thread does is raise awareness of rotten decks.
P.P.S. - Anti-fun is a concept some people may recognise from LoL, another online game

Peoples opinions and other hated decks are welcome.
Thanks,
Jaxly

My advice is to completely ignore these people. This is, IMO, a long ways away from a "troll" deck. People who can't handle stall would have a large portion of the possible strategies that exist be banned - if you remove stall, you're basically having a fight to see who gets a better rush draw.

The true "troll" decks I've seen are stuff that is designed to take stall to the point of absurdity, wherein they basically don't have a win condition other than deck out. Yours just uses a combo that takes a bit of time to set up and has some sundials to facilitate that setting up. In fact, you have as much stall as would be obtained by using nothing but two dim shields.

TL;DR - you're being trolled by them, not the other way around. Ignore them and enjoy your deck.

This isn't an anti-fun deck in the least, compared to others. Observe:
MrSexington's "Rage Quit Deck" (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,3807.0.html)
The Shutdown (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,8420.0.html)

Thank you both for your replies - they actually made me feel an awful lot better :)
I guess I just let some of the comments get to me a bit - Its great to feel that not everyone is against me ^^

I've heard of these decks but I've never seen them in serious PvP. Thanks for adding them as a counterweight to the above deck.
Many of the people who drop hate on the deck above commented on skyblitz - considering it to be a cheap move.
Is it this in conjunction with the stalling that annoy people?

Thanks for taking the time to comment

I guess I'm different than the average player, but I actually enjoy facing OTK decks.

For one thing, most OTK decks don't play anything besides quanta and draw cards until the turn before they go off. Because of this, you can usually tell if you're facing one early on. I mean a deck with lots of quanta stockpiled and plenty of cards in hand still...For me, it becomes a race against time.

If you find playing the deck fun, then you should play the deck. They are the ones trolling, not you.

That's mine. Pretty much the only deck I use now, as I love how people either quit (makes the game go faster) or just hit space as soon as their turn starts.

Also, you plal LoL? Let me know if you need to be carried. My AD Sona is easy mode :-D
