I like PvP, so I think the prices are a bit high.  You can not PvP in the Trainer, so I can not test PvP decks until I spend all that time and coins first.  Ungraded Tournaments are months away for me.

I think a nice price for upgrades would be:

1,000 for Pillars/Pendulums
1,250 for cards you can buy in the Bazaar
1,500 for rare cards

Actually, I agree with toimu :)  This looks awesome.  It still means that people wouldn't loos interest in the game once they've upgaded everything!

second that.
different prices for different cards would be the ideal solution.
Except make that 500 for pillars. Upgrading a pillar for *lots* of coins is in no way an accomplishment or reward for hard-earned coins, it gives the player the feeling of "wasting" good money.

Well, those who actually sell some pillars, make their deck smaller, and then up their pillars into towers... For them it's a sigh of "FINALLY!" I can upgrade a pillar!

So I would say 1k...

I'm not the kind of gamer to think that everything should be easy, but i do think that the prices right now are a little too high and this would be a nice solution.

^^ Fun is a balance between challenge and diifficulty.
It's not just about how much time spent collecting elektrum but also the ways you choose to.

Back in my day....
Let's put this into perspective:

When I started playing Elements, upgrades cost 1500.  Changing marks cost 100.  The trainer was free and there was no Oracle.

Now, upgrades still cost 1500 but changing marks is absolutely free.  There is still a free trainer to try out decks before buying/upgrading your cards on a wild hunch.  And now there's the Oracle dishing out free electrum and free cards just for logging in.

Now I am a very casual player--probably no more than 5-8 hours a week and I rarely grind FGs.  But in the meager amount of time I have played I have accumulated no fewer than 7 upgraded cards in any given element, with as many 32 in others.  This does not include the 100's of unupped cards I simply have never sold since I'm stingy like that.  I see very little reason to lower the cost any further since if a guy like me can accumulate that many upped cards without really trying, anyone can do better just by putting the smallest amount of effort into it.

Now get off my lawn!
Bring back Holy Cow!

A better question would be: "Do you think upgrades should be cheaper" this one seems to not give me a choice as to my option of not liking it to be cheaper.

No, because you can get all cards you want too quickly and there is no reason to grind anymore  ;)

I think this has gone into a split between people who have played this for a long time and grind FG's, who say NO, and people who have not played for a long time and have AI 3 grinders. Or something like that.

Aside from the coding difficulties etc., I think the first upgrade should be 1k, the 2nd upgrade 1.1k, the 3rd 1.2k... And so on. And we all start from 1k again.

I would prefer it to be this way:
Pillars into Towers: 1,000 Electrum coins
Others: 1,500 Electrum coins

And yes, I really WOULD play more often.
