More money for Zanz and more updates for us!

Hey all! So elements is a game that runs mainly off of donations, and people tend to like to be rewarded for donating. So how about we get more rewards for donating???

First off, I am completely willing to lead a campaign to get more donations. Unfortunately I don't have a lot to give players for donating, but I will give them what I have! Can I please get other forum members in on this, including Zanz, so that we can get some real traction!?!?!??

The first idea I have for the campaign is an update kickstarter of sorts! A number that Zanz states, say $1000, and when he reaches this number he will produce the next update. Let's hire Zanz ourselves to build the game we love so much! It would be great if Zanz stated what would be in the $1000 update so that people could donate more if they really wanted those features.

Another idea I have is to be able to get a nymph from a big donation. I'd say that the right amount for this is somewhere between $50 and $100. Also have more flexibility on what you get from donations. Large sums of electrum could be a choice, or unupgraded shards or other rare. More reasons for people to donate!

Next, I know that I will donate my vigorous play testing in each weeks tournament. Assuming I'm playing in it. The way this would work is they would PM me a receipt of a donation with the minimum amount to get this, I'm probably going to say $20, and I will share with them the decks I have built for the upcoming tourney, how they did against each other, and which I think are the best.

It would be great if we could get other players sharing similar services or even the same services! Maybe secret decks you use for league or arena grinding.

The whole point here is to get more people donating, and if everyone in the forum donated five dollars we'd have a lot of money!

Paying Zanz to care about his own game? Gaining Nymphs from Donations? Don't like that at all.

If Zanz did his homework, he would have understood just how much money he could make with introducing one foil card for each element (or another kind of alternative art).

2 or 3 balanced new cards per month could be implemented into this game with almost zero effort from Zanz. Look into CIA, balance check, copy & paste.

Programming in practice is usually much more difficult than it is in theory. Because of this, implementing an idea is not as easy as it may sounds. I talk out of experience...

As far as I can tell he doesn't do a lot of work on the game, so I'm just hoping to change that! Perhaps the donations could go towards him hiring another programmer to do some of the work for him while he designs the cards and the features.

Could somebody contact Zanz about this thread, and put me in contact with him? In the real world I'm a professional investor and an artist. I can easily see elements making way more money and I would love to help Zanz do that, including possibly investing money in it/helping him run it as a business. Do note that I will want to keep the game free! Thank you!

This game was not made to make money.  It is essentially a portfolio project for zans that he cans how off at job interviews, so hiring another developer is not an option.  As it is now, it seems that the game makes enough money to pay for the servers, which is what counts.

Who cares what it was made for!?!?!? There's money here! The hardest part of business is getting it off the ground! Which this has already done amazingly well!

I believe that if Zanz and I worked together I could help the game make between $15,000 and $40,000 in the next year, and more the next at least two consecutive years. It might level out at some point but of course the goal is to never have that happen. Although I highly doubt we would need this much investment money to start off, I could most likely get at least $50,000 in investments from my own money and various people in my life with a solid business plan to back it up. And although I'm not an expert on building business plans I have many people in my life who are, including my father who has an MBA.

We don't have to hire other code developers necessarily. Zanz could do all the coding and probably make a full time living off this game, although I'm not sure that this is how he would really want to make his living. That's up to him. What would also help a ton would be hiring artists and graphic designers to make it all way more pretty! There's so much potential I see here, and I'd like to at least try to make it happen!

Also a apple app would be killer in revenues!

Now now, if Blaze thinks there is potential here, and is wanting to back this, I see no problem with it. If he can make a convincing argument to Zanz, he might change his mind about this just being a side project.

Blaze, what I suggest to you is to email zanzarino with your proposition, and see what he has to say. I'm sure there is an email address around here somewhere.

To put it bluntly, if you think that "between $50 and $100" is the right amount to ask for a donation to get a nymph card in a free game, I highly doubt your business acumen.

I'm just an investor who sees an opportunity and is doing his best to take it Also yes, I would like more updates for this game!

And in terms of me making mountains of money, I already am. And I'm currently working on three major creative projects to hopefully do that, although the real reason for those is that I love art and want to spread beauty in the world.

We're already spending our time on the game! There's a large number of people who volunteer to help the game run tournaments and such. Granted, it might not work, and the game may not make a ton of money. But the risk to Zanz would be extremely minimal, or we could certainly set it up that way! If he would like to be at risk because the business plan say he should for more reward that is completely up to him. Although I doubt that will even happen.

It was just a very early idea, and is much more an extra incentive to donate than anything I expect to make a ton of money off of. Maybe you want a playset of shards, and you decided to spend an extra twenty for some extra shards and a nymph because of the nymph at fifty. Maybe it is a bad idea, who knows, it was just an idea

Thank you for the support! I couldn't find one on his profile and he's blocked all PM's. I haven't looked as hard as I could yet, but my suspicion is that I won't find it. He's seems to be generally hard to get ahold of. Any help in this area would be fabulous!

If you would search the Forums, you'd see that this is like the 15 Billionth time this topic has come up...

I'm sure if Zanz had wanted to go in this direction he would have already contacted some of the many others before now...
