If "fan base" requires more of the sort who wish to change the game into a pay for play environment, then I'm all against it....
With effort comes reward... suck it up, grind... it's funny to see how many "forum go-ers" want to be a part of everything "Elements" without actually playing the game...
I believe there may have been a bit of a misunderstanding. I completely agree with your assessment that changing elements into a pay for play environment would ruin the game. I also agree that donation rewards should be limited as to not create an unfair advantage.
Fair Rewards (in my opinion):
-A Rare Card (since they are already in the game and, therefore, will not cause too many balance issues)
-Some Electrum (This option needs to be on the table, but the amount cannot be so high as to make everyone else's grinding seem meaningless)
-Temporary Electrum per Game Bonus (As long as a temporary bonus does not affect the player's winning chances in game, it is fine)
Unfair Rewards:
-Extra Oracle Spins (would allow paying players to consistently have stronger arena decks than non-payers. This would also cause the overall arena to be stronger, further hurting grinders)
-Permanent Pets and/or PvP Pets (These would create severe balance issues if players could buy their way to victory)
-New Cards Before Release/"Member" Cards (I have no problem with paying players buying a new card as long as everyone else in the game has an equal opportunity to get those same cards by grinding. There should NEVER be any "restricted" cards even if it is just a week or two before the cards become public to everyone. If a player is able to buy a card and use it in a pvp match/arena deck, any player, regardless of paying status, should have the opportunity to obtain that card by defeating them.)
When I suggested trying to widen the fanbase, I was merely saying that a greater number of players would naturally lead to a greater number of donations. I never meant to imply that we should attempt to seek out only paying players. Elements is and should remain a game that everyone can enjoy.
