I just had the idea- What if the game allowed a free upgrading upon leveling-up?
That would be tremendously helpful for the new players, without upsetting the blance between estabilished players.
It also would give more meaning to the player's level beyond arena.

Now I realise that an upp every level is incredibly fast at the beginning, but maybe every 2nd or every 3rd level would be balanced? Or a fre upp after every 1k points (in the beginning, more later)?

Does this idea sound reasonable? Feedback please!

Agreed . Leveling happens very fast in the beginning . I think this system still provides benefits but doesn't just give out cards .

Up until Gold, the upgrades are very easy to obtain if via level. But then again, grinding gold is much easier than grinding score.
This will very definitely shorten the new-old player gap. I like it. +1

EDIT: i just realized that with this suggestion, at the time players reach 500 score quest, they can upgrade 6 cards, enough to grind FGs. Hmm.

Sounds like an awesome idea. It will have to be made so that you only get the upgrade the first time you reach a given level/score, so that you can't lose/gain score to get easy infinite upgrades.

I like the upgrade for every 1000 score up to 10,000 that iancudor mentioned. Though it would also need to only work the first time reaching each score as well. Something like this could easily speed up the game for newer players, and help shorten the "new player so you can't do anything but grind AI3 over and over again" time.
