Just a few ideas and questions

I was thinking that people may have multiple copies of a card they do not need while they can not get the cards they need. So here are some ideas.
-> Players could exchange cards with each other, or players could auction a Rare card for electrum.
-> Also, on PVP there could be an option for players to wage cards.
-> I thought I had more ideas, but guess I was wrong.

Questions:
-> What is Zanzarin's exact status? I saw that he has ~1 year to use his account.
-> Besides Zanzarin, is there anybody else to code the game?

Zanz is busy doing other stuff, so he is not doing any developing right now, and haven't done for a few years. There is no other developer.

Elements is pretty explicitly designed not to be a TCG. TCG's have some issue scaling electronically, & have to deal with things like binding daily cards to accounts. ColorlessGreen outlined a system which would be useful for creating ways to grant electrum codes to support unofficial pvp events with rewards

There is no other developers of Elements besides Zanzarino. I maintain an open source remake with Fippe94 which does have trading

Don't worry too much about it, you're new and these things happen. We've accumulated a lot of stuff in our ~7 years! It'd be pretty silly to expect you to know of all the things that went on here. Do be sure to check out what people have linked, though! They've got some neat things there.

Also, if you have any questions in general, we have a dedicated thread that you might be interested in. Chat's also a great place to ask questions! Just repeat yourself a few times, sometimes certain *cough* people are too self-absorbed to notice when people are asking things.
