We actually have a small resistance of people that don't build the usual tired AI competitive decks, and that group is spreading. Arena is only a small part of Elements though; if you ask any regular member on here, they will answer that they're here for the community. That includes PvP Events in which you -do- see original and interesting decks due to restrictive deckbuilding rules. You might wanna look into that.
i keep hearing this over and over. its a faulty argument, because in order to get to the point where you can be effective in such events, you have to grind up a nice collection of cards.
That.. doesn't make my argument faulty at all o_O
It just means you need to not suck as a player to join PvP. Makes sense, yeah?
it means you need to not suck as a player, and grind a whole lot before you can join pvp events, especially ones that allow upgraded cards. i issue is more with the related argument of "when balancing cards only PvP is taken into account." if PvE becomes sufficiently imbalanced, than new players wont be able to join PvP.
the newbie guide is basically:
1. pick fire, grind until you get a nice rush deck
2. grind until you can build an FG grinder
3. grind until you have a nice collection of upped cards, selling what you dont need to upgrade your grinders some more.
a typical newbie who just stumbles onto the game without really delving into the forum will:
1. choose an element that looks cool.
2. go through the initial quests
3. check out the bazaar and buy cards to improve the deck they started with.
4. realize that all this is useless for gettings cards from anything more powerful than AI3
