Alt Art Card Shop

Was reading a topic about new alt art cards by vrt and came up with an idea.

What about a card shop? Where anyone can post their alt art versions of any card.
Anyone can buy any of them from there with real money, a percentage goes to the artists and the rest goes to development of the game.
The alt versions will be unlocked in the bazaar to buy with Electrum coins as normal.

This means anyone can contribute, and people can choose what they want alt versions of.
Artists can choose either a real cash as a return, or if they prefer, let elements have all the money and receive Electrums instead.

Just an idea =)

I'm sure that this would be way too much work for the SINGLE developer of this game and it would consume more time thus giving fewer regular (if any) updates to actual gameplay.

To be fair, you can just ignore the shop in the first place and this game has several different artists that have contributed to it anyway.
I think this is possible idea if it doesn't take too much time (and server space) to make a shop + storage room for this alt card art shop.

Different drawing styles are already mixed. Zanz, vrt, Pepo, Cryo, and the Spore artists all have distinct art styles. The point is that these alternate arts become a choice.

The drawing styles are mixed, but you can barely tell. The proposal is an open shop. We'd sooner or later see very abstract drawing like a creature drawn with a single digit number of strokes, or trying-to-be-funny cards like a rustler with a santa hat. This would simply totally destroy the games flair.
And no, I can't ignore it. I don't have to buy it, but I'd have to see those cards in PvP/Arena all the time.

I agree to an extent.  While I would like to see new art and maybe different takes on a card, the fact that it would be open leaves room for subpar work or even things that do not fit at all.

If anything, it could turn into a CIA-esque process, as that in itself is already art based in terms of suggestion moving up in ranks...
