For me, it seems as if the oracle idea was a spontaneous idea which the community could like ( and imho it was one of his better ideas). The thing, that the oracle binds the player with the game may be a side effect and it needn´t be a reason, why zanzarino invented the oracle.
I want to remove the real life - internet life connection a bit, which other online games have.
I know it from other online games ( I don´t want to name them), that players like it, when the
game doesn´t want you to be online at a special time, when object X arrives Y, otherwise, it will be destroyed by whomever.
I don´t know, if it really makes no sense from developer´s perspective. This is a completely free game. Most browser games aren´t. Developers of many not completly free browser games live from the thing, that players want become better and better.
@SGs post: The purpose of the oracle is art, and game fun (as I see it). Maybe I´m naive. And I think the oracle shall not reward active players. This quotation supports, what I said, and if I think this quotation further, I come to my idea.
I had an idea tonight while overdosing on caffeine; Elements needs a way to distribute nymphs maintaining their rarity, and a way to reward players that is not based on grinding.
