69 seconds for a turn https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=43024.msg536146#msg536146
« on: August 24, 2012, 10:17:11 am »
Guys, I really really like this game and appreciate that is provided for free. But I have over and over again fallen onto players that take around or even more than 60 second to play their turn even if their turn is to add a pillar. I have a defensive deck and yesterday I played versus another defensive deck and it took us around half an hour to complete the match, because the guy played his turn right before the CPU took over. MERCY!!! I quit the game years ago for this same reason, and restarted recently. Isn't it possible to limit the time needed to play a turn? I understand many play multiple decks (different accounts) on the same time, but it's sooo frustrating to me to have to wait for nothing. Usually 30 seconds is way to much for a turn -- even when the game gets complex and even if people chat.  I think the CPU should eventually take over if somebody plays his turn near the end of his given time over and over again. Thanks.

The problem is in general that the transmission of info to server to other player takes time :v

I understand. I have noticed there's something with the connection some times :( Yet I think some people wait for the warning sound near the end of their time, before they play. It's like aargh   ?_?

There's a warning sound?

And sometimes, I'll be honest... I don't always realize it's my turn, or I had to do something really quick...
But there's also times when I actually have to think about what I'm doing, or I'm writing a message to the opponent.
As much as it sucks to wait a minute for every single turn... It would suck much much more to not have the time to take a turn.
If you're in that much of a rush, don't do pvp.
cheers ^.^

I've had trouble keeping track of turns too. This is one thing that could really use fixing. There should be a highlight, glowing light... something that very visibly indicate's which player's turn it is currently.

Unfortunately, there might not be much that can be done about the server time lag. Its most likely a product of the game architecture I think, and would probably require reworking the networking coding to fix it.

Concerning the lag, Brawl #1 Round 1 Boss task submission #3 shows examples of how long or short this can be. However, I can't deny that it feels shorter when I play a duel against a veteran.

Currently the most visible thing to tell you that is the top left corner. The DONE button will show up if and only if it's your turn. If you're unsure, look up there.

It's just about server, it feels shorter for some players because they don't tab away from the game.

When players tab away, flash slows down, which makes it longer.  Also, I completely agree with drolly.  Whenever I'm in a competition or a tournament, or even with somebody on the forums, Turn's never take forever unless there is a DC.  Has to just be coincidence though.
