PvP, as well as AI & Arena grinder, decks are exempt from the "2015" rule. I only put in the ones that were submitted in 2015 or earlier, though.
Edit: As for the 2nd part of your post, the problem would be rectified if more people would nominate things.
My only complaint is that more than half of my nominations were left out, even though they were valid.
For example: I don't see why it wasn't accepted as moment of the year that deuce left the forum, which made a huge impact. I also don't see why we have to find the origins of the decks if it doesn't even matter when it was submitted. I linked a single deck's code which I always use, that should have been enough. Also if there is an incomplete nomination, the correct method is to ask the sender what they intended to pick and not just leave it out without asking.
For the record, after I wanted to modify some of my nominations, I asked UTAlan to check what I submitted, but he said it's not possible for him, even though he's an admin. Fix this issue please so we can just see and modify our old submissions instead of needing to find one again if we forgot what we nominated. And also please put my nominations back on the polls. Thank you.
ps.: if you want more people to nominate, don't ignore what they nominate, or at least put the dismissed nominations in a spoiler, so at least we can know you didn't just miss them.
Going to slice this up a bit so I can reply cleanly and thoroughly.

That's fine, I understand where you're coming from, just thought I'd point out how some people may have interpreted your nomination. Losing deuce was a huge blow to the community, I completely agree that it had a big impact here, but perhaps it was MMC's intention for the awards to let us reflect on the best parts of the year, rather than the worst.
I could, of course, be completely wrong - perhaps there was another reason it was left out. Only he can know!
This.

Completeness. It's overall better to have an established deck topic, for the community members to judge whether that is their favorite deck or not, depending on if they judge by stats, or just overall popularity. As for incomplete nominations, time was running thin when I started to construct this topic, as well as it's arrival being a bit delayed. I did not want to delay it further, so it was better to just omit the nominations and post an apology. I apologize for the inconvenience or any hard feelings that may culminate from this.

UTA didn't have access to the spreadsheet that contained the responses to the nomination form. It would have been better to PM majofa/ddevans96, as they had access to the sheet, although I can see your reasoning behind PMing UTAlan. As for editing nominations, that is something that is inherent within the system. I would compare it to casting your ballot for an election, and then asking if you can get it back a couple days later. I will discuss with the other Council members about putting your nominations back in. Thank you for your concerns.

And why? This is about Awards for 2015, there is no sense in allowing decks that are much older. It seems ridiculous for them to be able to win a one-year-based award every year.
I also agree with Sub, if nominations weren't accepted, at least tell the player and name the reason.
I still believe that Council could take care of some quality in every section, and if it is just adding up to 3/4 options in each section. In a few sections, it is less about "who to vote", but more "to vote or not to vote".
As for the first part of your post, I believe you're misinterpreting what I said. I
did allow AI and PvP decks that were older than 2015, such as decks submitted in 2014, 2013, 2012... etc. The disclaimer is what was supposed to tell the players why their nominations weren't submitted, but it is becoming apparent to me that it is not sufficient. As for taking care of the quality in each nomination section, perhaps we could submit some submissions in the areas that were lacking, yes, but hindsight is 20/20. Again, this problem would be resolved if we had more than
13 people nominate things.
EDIT: Apparently it is me that misinterpreted. We allowed decks that were older than 2015 due to the lack of updates to the game in the past couple of years. It is a choice between allowing decks that are old, but good, or new decks that may not necessarily accurately represent our actual favorite decks.
Thank you all for your feedback, you may rest assured that the system may undergo changes for the 2016 Forum Awards. Also, thank you for your support and appreciation.
