You know "Deck Idea of the Month" is going to shit when mono-Aether makes it.

Whine Whine - Complain Complain

Aether wins war - new war begins - tribute is paid to the successes of the past and people come out of the woodwork to complain - no surprises here

Just because you're on Team Aether, that doesn't mean you can go insulting people who say that mono-Aether is creative. It's not.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the assumption that "Deck Idea of the Month" was supposed to be for creative and neat decks, which mono-Aether is not and never will be.
I didn't whine at all; I simply stated that mono-Aether should never be Deck Idea of the Month.

In this scenario, I almost want to say it is warranted.  As far as I know, that was the most successful deck in the last war, and I think its 2-0 this war (haven't specifically checked, but I think that may be it).  Deck idea of the month doesn't have to be "creative" that is just something that you want for it, it is your opinion.  The deck itself is great, as it is easily customisable, and beats rushes, stalls, and domins.  Very few decks actually do that, AND it's a mono.  I actually feel that the fact that it is a mono makes the deck even more impressive.  Sure aether is possibly overpowered, but that has nothing to do with the deck (I realize you didn't specifically say this, but I feel like this is part of the reason you feel it is not impressive).  Finally, saying "Mono aether will never be unique", I could run 6 lightning, 6 mindgates, and 6 silences with quanta, that would be a unique mono aether deck.  This isn't even "standard MA" which would be dims, phase dragons, and immortals.

Deck idea of the month can follow two standards:

1) Creative decks
2) Decks that have an impact on War or League

the link to psychic pulse is broken, but i was just going to post: i made that mechanic before him, or simply "firsties"  http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,32682.0.html :p

As that may be, I've tried limiting the ideas to ones that have been made in the past month.  This month just happened to use one that you've suggested first.

First off, thanks and great work to you Shrink, another lovely newsletter ^___^

Second, dang, my idea got a column  ;D Thankies Drake, 'tis quite an honour, especially from you. I always saw you as being a rather tough critic, so it's cool that my idea stood out to you. And to you, moomoose, firsties acknowledged xD Didn't mean to step on your toes, I had done a bit of digging to see if there were any similar ideas and didn't notice yours. I think they're a bit different in implementation, but given the obvious similarities, I'd like to ask your permission before I submit to crucible.

Good work as always, Shrink. I will say most Psiontals pack only 4 Psions and 2 Lobos to deal with the Momentum/Chrysaora weakness that's mentioned in the review, but that's less of a concern in War and that's where the deck is taken from.

Card Idea of the Month
Psychic Pulse | Psychic Pulse by Elbirn

This card review was written by the Idea Guru Drake_XIV.

Duo Possibilities

[ :aether | :gravity ] - Hm, another passive?  Poisonous.  And possibly one of the bigger issues when it comes to devouring creatures with Otyugh, who would prefer that he did not get poisoned for the tiny morsels he ends up consuming.  Along that, this would also cancel Salvage, letting Pulverizer get by just in case a Salvager is out and about.

I'm sorry if I got this wrong, but I'm REALLY confused:
The card is to prevent all creatures' abilities and passives for 1 turn. Sure you can disable poisonous passive, but how can you devour it with your Otyugh when all abilities are disabled?
Life is not worth living, yet death is not worth dying for.

kind of unrealistic, but possible with playing Oty and then SoR after playing this card?

Still doesn't work, 'summoning sickness' is there even with SoR, since Oty is not a time card.

Still doesn't work, 'summoning sickness' is there even with SoR, since Oty is not a time card.

Unless I completely missed something, SoR still removes summoning sickness from all elements (hence readiness). The time-specific bonus is allowing two uses.

Whether or not this matters depends on whether the card is an effect applied to all creatures in play at the time the card is cast, or whether it is a field-wide effect that lasts until the next turn.
