Since it can be hard to keep up with who is active in the Elements community and who is not (considering the Farewell section is closed off to Full Members and below, and many people don't even post in it).

So perhaps the text which normally says 'Full Member', 'Newbie', 'Global Moderator' or whatever should be changed to 'Inactive' when a user is inactive for a period of time (say, a month). It could also be turned on by the user themselves when they decide to leave, temporarily or permanently (such as the people who post in the Farewell topic).

I like this idea.
If this is a easy change (I do not know how forum code works on that level) then I think it would be worth the effort.
