By reading the notes.

For the "Aquatic" trait: Essentially, when this card is played, the owner is asked to pick a flooded slot for the creature to enter. If flooding ends, this creature will die on its next attack (much like a non-water creature would die due to the presence of flooding, but reversed).

So this card will automatically be placed in an available flooded slot (assuming flooding is played), even if there are dry slots available? Even then this card actually seems to be less powerful than Otyugh+plate armor since it needs 1 card more for the combo (while dealing just 1 more dmg to creatures and a creature that doesnt die instantly will most likely kill the shark instead) and doesnt attack the opponent while battling a creature. I think this card is balanced at 5 cost, so that it is useful even if it cannot use the ability. While the ability looks powerful at first glance, due to its many requirements actually using it in a streamlined deck will make it impossible to include another dmg source except for maybe Ice bolt.

So how were you expecting to get the shark in the flooded area?
See the first 2 lines of the card:
"Aquatic. (Play to a flooded slot. Dies if flooding ends"

I explain in the OP that when the card is played, the player gets prompted to pick a flooded slot.
When played from hand, you are prompted to pick a slot to play it too. If none are flooded, you will have zero options and will have to hit cancel. I.e. you can't play it if flooding is not in effect.

I put in gravity as nod to it being "Drawn like a magnet to its target by the scent of blood"... But I guess thats a tenuous stretch. I'll remake with :water ability in a bit.

I can also remove the "injured" condition... I'll make use of that when I do a pirana card in the near future.

So if I drop the "injured" part and leave it as a :water cost on the ability, will that work or will it become OP?

If a duo cost is needed, what would be a better element?
-Keep in mind, the ones that have not been used in other water cards are:
:darkness :entropy :life :light :time :gravity

Of those choices I would guess the other option would be :darkness ... although maybe :life or could work too.

I would have used :air but toadfish already does. Chrysaora already has :death taken (the other really good fit).
And squids make use of :water for their skill.
Even :fire (which fits the combat / blood lust etc) is taken by steam machine.

Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?

I would keep the duo cost and injured requirement, so that you dont have to pay for the potential skill while playing the card already. I want it to be both useful in a mono where it is just an additional hitter and in a deck that is built around its effect. So I would drop the cost to play the card to 5 :water (both upped and unupped since flooding takes abit to setup and upped rushes can be really fast). Like this there are 3 ways to use this card: 1.Cost effective hitter in a deck with flooding and freeze/icebolt. 2. A creature control deck with Gravy mark, flooding and dry spell. 3. A SoP deck that gets +5/+5 for all the creatures ( however its still a 3card combo and the sharks are the only creatures that can use that effect and since they have strong base stats the delay is a huge punishment)

Sounds good.

So keep skill as a :grav cost or use a different element?

Newest version is up now.
Reduced cost to 5 :water for both upped and unupped version as per kaempfer13's suggestion.
