So how were you expecting to get the shark in the flooded area?
See the first 2 lines of the card:
"Aquatic. (Play to a flooded slot. Dies if flooding ends"
I explain in the OP that when the card is played, the player gets prompted to pick a flooded slot.
So this card will automatically be placed in an available flooded slot (assuming flooding is played), even if there are dry slots available? Even then this card actually seems to be less powerful than Otyugh+plate armor since it needs 1 card more for the combo (while dealing just 1 more dmg to creatures and a creature that doesnt die instantly will most likely kill the shark instead) and doesnt attack the opponent while battling a creature. I think this card is balanced at 5 cost, so that it is useful even if it cannot use the ability. While the ability looks powerful at first glance, due to its many requirements actually using it in a streamlined deck will make it impossible to include another dmg source except for maybe Ice bolt.
When played from hand, you are prompted to pick a slot to play it too. If none are flooded, you will have zero options and will have to hit cancel. I.e. you can't play it if flooding is not in effect.
I put in gravity as nod to it being "Drawn like a magnet to its target by the scent of blood"... But I guess thats a tenuous stretch. I'll remake with
ability in a bit.
I can also remove the "injured" condition... I'll make use of that when I do a pirana card in the near future.
So if I drop the "injured" part and leave it as a
cost on the ability, will that work or will it become OP?
If a duo cost is needed, what would be a better element?
-Keep in mind, the ones that have not been used in other water cards are:
Of those choices I would guess the other option would be
... although maybe
or could work too.
I would have used
but toadfish already does. Chrysaora already has
taken (the other really good fit).
And squids make use of
for their skill.
Even
(which fits the combat / blood lust etc) is taken by steam machine.
