SoF is not a reliable balancing model as stated above. (It still needs balancing and might as well be left out of this thread entirely.)
However BE does not seem like the ideal card to compare Sprite to either IMHO for the below reasons:
-Sprite is playable without a second card. (Its singular use is more comparable to Explosion)
-BE is probably one of the less reliable PC cards due to cost along with 3> limits. (It seems more players would prefer a quicker Steal/Explosion or the more guaranteed Pulverizer).
1 Explosion costs 3
, 1 Cards,1 Turn and the player has a choice when to trigger explosion.
1 Steal costs 4
, 1 Cards, 1 Turn and the player has a choice when to Steal. You gain the stolen permanent
1 Sprite + 1 Disenchant costs 5
, 1 cards , 2 turns and the player must use use a Disenchant immediately on the second turn... unless Purify, repeated healing, or archangel is cast, which turns the card into a fragile version of Pulverizer with 4
ability cost.
1 Pulverizer costs 4
, 1 Cards, 2 Turns, has 3
ability cost and is repeatable.
1 Butterfly Effect costs 5
, 2 cards, 2 turns and 3
ability cost and is repeatable. Requires a creature with 3> attack.
-Sprite is slower and less flexible than Explosion and Steal.
-Sprite is more easily destroyed than Pulverizer. Pulverizer is more expensive but does not require another card to prevent self-destruction.
-Assuming a third card is not used a BE'd creature will not self-destruct either.
Current Thoughts : Design feels... awkward. I don't know exactly how to put it, but unless I use Purify or Guardian Angel I don't really see a reason to use this above Explosion or Steal in terms of short-term speed. In longer/stall matches, Pulverizer seems superior given that I do not need to include a second card to prevent self destruction and that there are many more CC cards than PC cards. I also find it a little difficult to believe that Life would gain Hard PC so readily (with themes such as the Ecosystem, Forests, Biology, etc..., it seems more in Life's theme to use Soft PC such as
Vines. Likewise I see a Sprite's nature as being more playful and mischievous than openly destructive.)
Suggestions : Remove Poison and find a softer PC effect (which would also help to lower the large ability cost). Might need a bit more reworking than that, though I'm not exactly sure what... ^^;
