This card is an awesome idea, but I believe that you should make it cost more, as not only does it block 3...like a diamond shield at 6 :earth , but it makes a dragon!

I agree, actually.  It'd work fine at either lowering blocking, or, considering that it can still break, raise the costs by 1.  The upgraded doesn't need the cost drop since the dragons get at least +1 or +2, which should compensate for upgrading.

I thought about doing it that way for the  first version, but decided that making it so the opponent has no safe way to get rid of it makes it too strong.  Plus, it would make interaction with Steal kind of awkward.

or "-3 Damage / starts with x marks / remove 1 mark when y / Creates a water dragon when at 0 marks" ?
Entropy doesn't have a monopoly on randomness or luck: fate egg, dusk mantle, fog shield, skull shield,  ice bolt, devourer, mindgate.

dealing with X marks removed when Y would also probably make too much text to fit onto a card.
I never said Entropy had a monopoly on luck, but that doesn't change the fact that you should avoid sing those mechanics if possible. The text would probably be too uch though, yes.

its random.  the reason i didnt have it rely on the creature that broke it is because the flavor is that there is already a dragon trapped in the ice so the creature that breaks it has nothing to do with what comes out.

well you said not to make cards that rely on luck other than for entropy... i cant think of a better way to do it than random.

You could make it have x charges, each attacks lowers the 'resistance' of the ice by 1.

Ice shield (10 charges) blocks 3 damage per attack. One charge consumed for each blocked attack. Ice breaks and releases dragon at 0 charges.

That makes it inferior to Bone Wall.

So, I play aflatoxin on one of your creatures, and play this shield... when MCs fill your field, i get like 4-5 dragons per turn, right. I might even carry around a bottle of adrenaline for your MCs, or a green nymph ;). Definitely OP.

What if there was a 20% chance to break?  From there, a 50% chance that a dragon will be spawned and additionally, a 60% chance for it to enter frozen/congealed?

Aha, I see. And, 50% that dragon gets in game frozen, right? Than definitely not OP, actually very balanced.
