This card works better in decks with more creatures, and at the moment, mono-life rush gets countered by about everything. Playing that deck itself is the drawback.

Besides, it's basically like Electrum Hourglass - just that yo can use it at most 50% of the time, so it's way weaker than EH and thus balanced. The only thing one could say is that it should cost  :life :life unupped, in comparison to EH.

That's a lie. I was in the top 50 in Silver Arena using a mono-life rush, and it stayed in the top 100 for like 6 days, until it's HP was at 34. Mono-Life is a great deck.

And no, I didn't use upgraded cards, either.

He said that drawing cards have a drawback close to the heart of their element. I think if each Great Oak lost 1 hp per use of ability, then it'd match the element. The tree gave some of it's life to try to make a new one.

Top 50 (...) in silver Arena (...). That's definetly enough proof to say that life rush isn't UP. :>

Hahahahha... seriously.

@OP: I really like the card the way it is! A bit UP, but that's better for new cards than being op.

But what is your drawback?

I mean, with Mindgate, there's not a huge chance you'll draw a card from them that you can use.

With SoBr, you accelerate your draws possibly faster than you can afford, AND you draw for your opponent.

This is just a 'draw a creature' card. It's really cheap, too. I think the hp should go up to 5, and every time you use the ability, it loses 1 hp.
The drawbacks are:
1) You will not draw a card 100% of the time.
2) Your opponent can see what you'll draw.
3) There are many more cards that can kill Oak than Hourglass.
4) If your top card isn't a creature you can't use any of your Oaks whereas you can pick and choose how many Hourglasses you trigger.

So it's more like several small drawbacks mixed together that weaken the card to balance the lower price than Electrum Hourglass.

1 and 4 are perfectly valid, and I see your point.

2 - This doesn't really do much. Just because you can see it coming, doesn't mean you can stop it.
3 - But more people carry PC than CC.

But, nonetheless, I completely agree with the whole *can only draw if it's a creature* ability.
