Hyroen, I haven't used Voodoo Dolls before, so I don't know how effective they are exactly, but 5 Rage Potions doesn't seem like enough defense to me while you slowly poison the Dolls and chipping away with Eclipse. To me, that deck seems slim on defense with a slow moving offense.

Or are you supposed to use both Rage Pots and LS on the Voodoo Dolls? With Eclipse, that gives them 6 damage and 1 poison to the enemy. Definitely good, but requires 3 cards per creature, and then you have no defense or enemy CC, just healing.

I'm gonna try it in the trainer though, since I've never used Voodoo Dolls before. I could be all wrong.

EDIT: The Rage Pot/Voodoo Doll is pretty effective with the extra 5 damage it deals when playing the Potion, but the AI3s I've faced have had buttercup hands. Could be worth testing in PVP Duel to really see how effective it is

I'm glad somebody's paying attention, cuz I missed that.  :-[  I actually created a fire/grav deck and several others here  (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,6759.msg81198#msg81198) prior to the first War, but I axed them all cuz they simply weren't good enough.  I'm brainstorming again as we all should be, and I'll post some more half-baked and unlikely to make the final cut ideas tomorrow.


While we're deckbuilding we should keep in mind that you can build decks using nymphs and marks, though it obviously constrains who can use it.  Let me know if the following table isn't correct.  I'll try to keep it up to date and on this page.

Acsabi, I don't think your gravity duo deck is legal. I think we need 50% fire. Probably it's a little heavy on growth creatures for a deck with no defense (its basically a rush with slow rushers) so maybe sub the Fire Eaters for some more Fire cards? Although I'm not sure Fire Spirits would be the best either. That's a slow deck with no defense. I think it would need some beefier fire creatures to be viable.

I know we've got some great deckbuilders on the team that can help us out :)

Swap two Grav pendulums for two Fires, and it's OK.(thats exactly 50% fire) nwm, I edited the decklist.

I agree that this is not a very powrful deck. the problem is, we cannot play 9 Immo/Golem rush decks bc the cardpool won't allow it.
With this deck, I tried to come up with something to play if the vault runs out of deflagrations. It's clear from majofa's list that most problem cards can be handled with a deflag, so I expect the bulk of our decks to run a few. But only 24 is allowed in the vault so eventually we have to come up with something else.

I went through all the elements and found the cards that could give us the most trouble.
I'd add Maxwell's demon to  :entropy. Most of the time if I don't draw an answer then it's GG.

Recommmended counters: firebolt, ragpot, fireshield, playing huge ass'd creatures (last one is a meh. Who wants to play huge-ass'd creatures just for the sake of it?)

majofa I'd just like to point out that the :air Air card Wings does much more than just block Lava Golems, it blocks damage coming from Farenheit, which can bother a lot of our decks.

EDIT: OH!! And kev, you can edit our nymphs. I'm a brand new owner of my Gnizzle7, my brand new :time Golden Nymph. Yes that's her name.

Kev, maybe some ragpots into your Maxwell deck to make opposing critters more "paradoxable"??
Maybe cut a few shields and a phoenix to make room for them. I see that she FSs serve the same purpose but the ragpots may be faster...? I'll test both versions.

facing AI3. Interesting to see the pure :fire Fire deck coming out on top. Will keep testing in groups of 10 matches.

The :time Time variant seems to come out under, but perhaps there's a deck that improves when using Precognition for thinning?

Do we know who our first opponent is? I would be all over this once we do. I suppose we could even do the trickiest decks (Entropy overall comes to mind, but elements that can effectively heal or have speed are tricky too... Life, Earth, maybe Darkness).

Anyone that sees me in chat is welcome to PM me and we can organize some PVP Dueling.

Hopefully we can get some flexibility in our decks. It's hard to believe most Entropy deck's won't include Discord when so many decks they will be facing will be Duos, so we would want Rainbows against them, ideally. And elements with shields that can really stop us in our tracks, like Aether, Air, Darkness, Water, we'll want to spread around our Deflags. Luckily it doesn't make sense to bring like 5 shields into a battle, so hopefully Deflagging will be effective.

I am worried about a Discord/Black Hole combo from either Entropy or Gravity. No reason they couldn't use, like, 3 or 4 of those. I would say that rushes would be good, but a Maxwel's Demon would stop that cold.

For that, I'm using an offline playtester. It's designed for MtG, but can be used with any decklist database. You can create various decks and then playtest them against eachother. Being designed for MtG, it obviously has its limitations, but it's waaay faster than playtesting via PVP duel. With a bit experience, you can playtest faster than even AI3. And as I said, you can playtest any two decks vs eachother, or you can play mirror.

The program's called Magic Suitcase. If any of you are interested in trying it, PM me and I'll send a link for downloading (back in the days it was easy to find but now it's tricky) and help you set it up for Elements playtesting. After that, you can play maybe 50 matches in an hour or more.

If any of you have Magic Workstation or Apprentice, those too can be set up for playtesting Elements.
