I find that it wins about as much through deckout as it does through mindgate beatdown. High PC hurts slow FG decks, silences hurt fast ones.
QTowers let the god play off the mark cards (Eg. Splat), and let it play cards without having to wait to gate the right pillar. Even more speed against FG rainbows.
Silences shut down the opponent's early turns, giving the god time to set up. Randomly drawing silences can also disrupt decks. Lategame silence can kill a bouncing photon, if it is their only creature.
Lobo makes a spare weapon, and helps keep early damage low.
Army of steals, powered off of the mark, provide versitile permanent removal. Plus, stealing pillars (If the AI feels like it) helps power gated cards. Also helps it break through sanctuaries to resume the silencing.
Phase shield is another damage stopper.
I had trouble figuring out the right balance of QTowers and other control.
Considered cloaks, except for them to be significant many are needed, and there have already been several recent FG's with cloaks.
Considered lighting, except I realized there are no good targets. Flayers are useless, Scorps only need one hit, etc.
Suggestions welcome.
Versus common anti-fg decks:
Instosis: Complete shutdown. Silence = no more combo.
CCYB: Suprisingly effective. Rarely gets damage out, but can easily hold off oncoming assaults. (Mindgate SoG spam ftw).
Splat: Lobo stops scorps (occasionally), Mindgated SoSacs = deckout. Early silences = slower damage = deckout.
Rol/Hope: Nothing to steal but Lobo wears it down. Also, if he can get his own hope running, all damage is stopped, deckout.
This deck can be trivially countered with an oracle prediction. Just run a 41 card deck. 6 explosions (For lobo), 35 pillars. I find that hilarious.
The deck also can quickly fill up it's permanent slots, with steals and mindgates, rendering steals useless. Not sure what to do about that.
