tl;dr: Deck based around bad card is bad deck. I will try out Quint later.
Yes, this deck is rather slow. The deck I posted above was the variant that got the Chimera out as soon as possible, but taking Phase Shields and shifting the deck focus from speed (which the current version fails horribly at) to stall-bomb is probably a good idea.
As of late I have tried replacing the Armaggios with other cards, with variable success:
+5 Graviton Guards
This lets you get some damage early, but what I'm seeing is that the deck would be faster if the Chimeras were dropped as well - good if you want to win faster (and shamelessly imitate Kartis' Phoenixplosion (
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,13526.0.html)) - bad if you want to keep the deck focused on Chimera, which I do.
+3 Firemasters, 2 Otyughs
Firemasters are to be Fractaled, Otyughs are usually not. The Firemasters are really cheap HP, and the Otyughs can help clean up the field a little before Chimera waltzes in so it doesn't die as quickly. May be a better version overall.
-Completely different versions involving Earth Mark + BB OR Momentum; Gravity Force
Fragile Chimeras galore, and crap draws as well. This might have potential, but I can't balance the cards to make either version work well enough.
Quintessence - a wonderful idea that I managed to forget. I'd say take it if you're going to try to stall with Phase Shields, but ditch it or take a single one if you're going for speed (which, if I haven't made it clear enough, will not be fast at all
). Stalling means the Chimera will come out late game, and the opponent usually has all sorts of cruel and unusual CC to pile on your Chimera. Speed means Quint interfere with draws if you take too many, and opponents shouldn't have
that much hard CC early game. Icky things like Rewind, Congeal, BB - just hope they are wasted on Armaggio before Chimera comes out.
@Celidion Ah, another deck that mine is similar to. There are probably many more that I missed.
