Phoenixplosion! Quite Literally! https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=13526.msg170313#msg170313
« on: October 04, 2010, 06:46:48 am »
So, as many of you know, I've been goofing around with a Fractal Phoenix deck. I will get you a few statistics if you want them, but I'll just let you look at the deck for now. It's pretty much a one track pony, nothing fancy, but soooooo much fun to play. It's been done before, it will be done again, but this is the version I've had fun with. And continue to have fun with. After a mess of testing and rebalancing and testing and rebalancing, I've settled upon the version below, I think. I'll have to play another 1,000 games to be sure!

Without further ado... I give you,Fractix Phoenixplosion!!! :))

It's looking like a low 6 ttw range which would beat out a similar deck in Jmdt's ttw study  ;D (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,8813.0.html)

The pendulums should make this run quite a bit faster.

i found awa to counter this deck easy airnymph+ bone wall the gas kills the phoenix and increases amount of bones in wall it is also useful cause defrags won't kill the bone wall only take off one bone instead

That is a good way to counter this deck, but you would be using 3 elements. Bone wall costs high  :death. You need atleast 1  :fire to activate the Gas. And a Air Nymph ( Luckly if you have one) which I don't remember the  :air cost right now.

And you might be dead by the time you get that combo out. Plus, with the explosions, your plans might be ruined even if you were able to get one UG.

Don't think he forgot it at all. They add 2 when they die and 1 when they attack. They can only attack every other turn due to the delay of their skill when killed. It's a hard counter. Most decks have that. Hell, add some Thunderstorms if you want to make it even more evil.

And kartis, I'm glad you made it official. I've learnt to mouse over your smileys by now. ^_~

Then instead of a air nymph, how about the thunderstorms ( your idea ) with liquid shadow the ashes? Removes the skill " Rebirth ". Making the bone walls last longer.

Napalm gets out so many Phoenixes in such little time that Liquid Shadowing up to 6 Ashes isn't going to change the game flow much in your favor.  Now a Black Nymph might be useful, but the odds of pulling one out when you need it devastates this combo considerably.  Of course you could always just Lobo the Ashes, but Explosions might impede progress in that endeavor.  Best tactic for beating this deck is either an evil jmdt deck or a Light stall ;).
