Maybe it'll be rude, but... can i propose that mirror quanta is named "mark quanta", instead?
It seems more straightforward this way, at least to me!

Mark Quanta really just loses flavour. Though it's more straightforward, many other pseudoquanta also use indirect names for flavour.

Sorry if this idea has been voiced before, I must admit I haven,t read all 11 pages. Anyway: maybe there could be blood quanta, blood quanta basically being your life? Blood pillars healing you is probably a terrible idea for balance, though, so a blood deck would need to use another means for healing. Or to replace an eventual blood pillar, there could be a blood altar, that would do something along the lines of: sacrifice target creature you control and gain double it's HPs to use as blood quanta. You will loose the remaining life at the end of your turn.

I could really imagine some creatures that would be a little like rustlers, but would use your life to generate quanta (of your mark?). It would probably be somewhat themed around life and vampires, so it might be redondant with darkness, though . Hmm...

Anyway, just thought I'd throw the idea out there :)

Just wondering if this Pseudoquanta is original enough to pursue:
Secondary Quanta (Name may change). Cards that cost C :second absorb C quanta from any single non-mark element.

Examples flavorful mechanics:
5 :second : Gain 10 quanta of your mark.
3 :second : Absorb 3 quanta from every [one of your] element[quanta pools] when played. Generate 2 quanta of your mark per turn.
2 :second : Absorb 1 quanta from every element per turn. [Stays in play even if you can't manage the upkeep.] Gain 1 mark quanta each time you play a card.

Good for duos that want more than just a splash, not OP for monos, and not too easy to use for rainbows.

Blood is a alternate cost mechanic but not a Pseudoquanta unless implemented as Phyrexian Mana which would be copying MtG too much. Blood is still worth pursuing. Try Fire as a default element for Blood Costs unless the mechanic does not fit.

Secondary Quanta is original but I am not sure if it is useful enough. It is a cross between  :rainbow and mono quanta that I feel is more restrictive of design usage than either.

General quanta:

Takes its quanta cost from each available element - kind of like Black Hole.

For example, a card costs 1 :general. In a pure mono it would only take one quanta, whereas in a rainbow it could potentially take 12. Thus, it would work on a card that would be too powerful in a rainbow.

Not sure about the name.

General quanta does not seem very versatile. If a card costs General quanta it will have drastically different costs depending on the quanta supply. It is very hard for a card to be worth paying  :aether and worth paying  :aether :air :darkness :death :earth :entropy :fire :gravity :life :light :time :water. Even designing a card that is worth paying  :air and worth paying  :air :darkness :death seems almost impossible.

Just a thought in the works (yes, I know it's somewhat similar to the above idea, but bear with me.)

Prismatic Quanta - Costs X of each element in order to be used.

So a card that costs 4 Prism Quanta would have to use 4 quantum of each element.

Since it would be difficult to play in most cases, Prism Cards would usually cost about 1-5 and have slightly stronger effects than their standard counterparts.

Also, perhaps a Pseudoquanta for each Elemental group?

Cardinal Quanta - Uses :aether :time :entropy :gravity pools.
Material Quanta - Uses  :air :earth :fire :water pools.
Spiritual Quanta -  Uses :darkness :light :death :life pools.

@Zblader: Really interesting!! Pushing Quartet decks more into light!! There might also have to be specific pillars for them though. I imagine quanta management for 4 different elemental quanta will be tough with the current card pool.

In my opinion it's about time 'mana' got a proper definition in Elements. Introducing the new pseudoquanta concept: Elemental mana!

As you can see, I'm using the Underworld symbol as the mana symbol. If anyone has alternative art that would be great.

Basically a card with mana cost will take its quanta cost from a certain element as much as possible, then random quanta for the rest.

For example: imagine you have 4 :fire and 7 other quanta. If you play a card that costs 8 it will drain your 4 :fire, plus 4 other random quanta.

On the other hand, if the card only cost 2 , it would drain 2 :fire as if it had merely cost fire quanta.

But wait, there's more! Introducing: pseudomana!

Mirror mana, Copy mana, Priori mana and Apogee mana! They are the same as elemental mana, but use pseudoquanta as the primary source instead. For example, Mirror mana costs as much quanta from your mark as possible.

Thoughts? Suggestions?
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

Please continue the naming convention of "quanta".

I am not sure what benefit can be derived from that relaxed cost mechanic that is not already provided by the  :rainbow pseudoquanta mechanic.
However I am not all seeing. :)
