1) Draw the eternal spell [lets call it blueprints].
2) Play Blueprints targeting a Life pillar. [Paying some amount of  :earth]
3) Gain a eternal life pillar [Construct Life Pillar].
4) Play Construct Life Pillar. [Paying some amount of  :life]
5) Gain a Life Pillar.
Repeat steps 4 and 5

Alright, so I was correct in the first place. Sorry for my sudden derpyness on this, but the way the spell was described made it hard for me to grasp.

It's cost stacks upon each use.
minimum is-1 :earth or so.
From there, it's +1 :rainbow of whatever element the pillar/pendulum belongs to per use.
so if you get 2 pillars, it's 2 :rainbow.
Think of it as an exchange rate instead of a 1-time cost, that's how these 'Eternals' are supposed to be balanced in the first place.

i think you missed one point- it would cost :earth to cast the spell to make the pillar/pendulum eternal, and then the subsequent pillar pend would cost :earth to use, regardless of what element the pillar/pend target is.

Maybe it'd be interesting if we dragged the Archetype Series into this? Allow a person to start changing the creatures in their hand based on the effects of archetypes, and allow flaws to enter the characters as well?

Indeed, though I think that it's worth having. If the cost of the eternal spell is that it requires multiple targets in order to stack its effect more than once, that could be a valuable thing. We could even make it change from an "Archetype" into a "Path" that creatures follow to become stronger.
