I see your aim now. Yeah cards that expand upon previous series or sets would be a good idea but probably should wait till we have more sets to expand.
Scorpions, Spiders, Nymphs, Dragons, Birds, Graviton, ...
So adding new sets and expanding on old sets would be decent ways of introducing more synergy between elements.

Sorry for the delay.

Phase 2: Showdown is now up, however the issue of addressing all other synergies still bothers me, perhaps next time this is run more people will voice their opinions.

I think new cards for weak synergies should not get a mechanical bonus because with each additional card for that synergy, the synergy gets stronger. However this means that weak/incomplete synergies should be a higher priority for card designers to add cards to support.
