Hmm... exchanging a golem for an unupgraded phoenix seems to put less strain on my earth usage, but at the same time, that cremation I changed into a tower might have been a bad idea. It IS still one extra earth quanta, and now I don't seem to have enough cremations.

Should also mention the option of ash eaters instead of a golem or two, would solve the cremation problem without removing them i think.

Also, you might want to check out the QI (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,5676.0.html) calculator in tweaking. It's no substitute for actual testing, but it does help.

Hmmm... I like that idea. But wouldn't that decrease the punch in this deck too?

Oh, and welcome back.
thanks for those links.
I'm not sure if that calculator will help me much though. I've seen people discussing what value would be optimal for their needs. I'm pretty sure that finding out the hard way is also the best way.
Those deck links look awesome though. I'll definiately work towards getting them.
I already found instosis, but you double linked SPlat, by the way.

And thanks for welcoming me back. I don't quite remember why I left the game, but it sure feels good to play again.

Not as much as you might think, your losing out on a total of nine damage for a possible faster start. For instance, if you get a tower, ash eater(only one though, so its a stretch) and a cremation, there is a grand total of two cards you can't play.

If the sole purpose of a single ash eater is the option to cremate it, I think it's better to simply add an extra tower.
I think it's more consistant to have a greater chance to draw two towers, a minor phoenix and a cramtaion, rather than hoping for that awefully rare chance to play a first turn ash eater. But I still see your point, and it might be interesting to explore this option in a different deck concept.
