Thanks so much for the overwhelming amount of responses!   I'll start making them and give you feedback on what he likes!

Thanks again!

i think it may be an excellent idea if you did a mono element rush that had monsters that really didn't matter what order they came into play in. if you need inspiration for this kind of deck i strongly suggest visitng http://elementswiki.co.cc/decks/mono-decks/ (http://elementswiki.co.cc/decks/mono-decks/). the good thing about autism though is that once you find something you like you go along with it no matter what happens. i dont know how similar they are but i had some friends with aspergers and the seemed to improve at the games they played very rapidly. (for example one friend was a demon at blindfold jenga!!!)

anyway i wouldn't worry too much about him as it sounds like the game is relatively calming to him. if he needs you be there but other wise he should be fine :)

Just to follow up, I went for the multicolored and the poison one, and it seemed that he liked both about the same but he was probably winning more with the poison one more, so any money that he won I used to start upgrading his frogs first, then his scorpions.  After that, it seemed he could even beat like the top 50 type people more often than he lost!  so from that he started winning shards and I put those in.  Any idea how to improve further, assuming I would have all the rare cards I would need to make it?  Here's the deck as it stands now (I added more pendulums instead of pillars in order to compensate for increased cost of deadly poison)

Code: [Select]
5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5de 6rn 6rn 6rn 715 718 718 718 718 718 718 71a 7ae 7ae 7ae 7ae 7ae 7ae 7ao 7ao 7ao 7ao 7ao 7bu 7bu 7bu

Thanks a bunch, Jimmy really appreciates it!  The lifetime stats on the account (including my fumbling around) are 1552 wins, 611 losses !

+ karma for the helping your cousin have a great time.

This deck is pretty good for a non-spell deck.  The only other thing I could say is swap the Skull Buckler for jade shield once you upgrade your pillars into towers.  Hope your cousin is enjoying the game.

One of the Greatest topics I've seen here! Nice to hear how you're helping your cousin.

Like Zblader said^, you could change Skull Buckler. But instead of Jade Shield, I recommend using Spine Carapace (upped version of Thorn Carapace). That shield infects enemy creatures and thus adds creature control for the deck, but at the same time doesn't need targeting.

Except the problem with Carapace is that it can be PC'd(aka Destroyed, Stolen, etc..., might irritate your cousin a bit).  Jade Shield also blocks extra damage when upgraded, and is immune to destruction effects.  Both work pretty well, so I think you should use Carapace for a more offensive, risky playstyle with things dying all over that place and Jade for a defensive, streamlined style that doesn't get disrupted as easily.
