Religion / Re: I still find it hard to believe the complexity of the universe to be mere chance
« on: May 13, 2011, 01:17:49 pm »Logic and reasoning made me an athiest. Science worked out as a supportive tool for this.this is in fact an excellent way of putting things. my one point of correction would be to say that actually the universe is not overtly simple - that's why it has taken billions of years for everything to happen up to this point. but yes the universe is a lot simpler than we view it. sometimes though it just takes someone with a different way of looking at things to see it.
A boy says " Timmy is really big. "
We asked the boy " Who is Timmy ? ".
The boy replied, " Timmy is my big brother. "
The question is " Is Timmy really big ? ". The answer is yes for the boy. The boy compares his own size to his big brother Timmy.
The question before us is " Is universe highly complicated ? ". The answer is yes for the humans. He compares his own intelligence to the working of the universe.
The truth is that the universe is very simple. But the human's limited intelligence and knowledge makes the universe seem overly complicated which leads to the belief within himself that there is a need for a highly intelligent being to exist inorder to create and maintain this universe.
