Ok, I am aware that there is a thread for this, but I spent about 20 hours on this already (and am not done), so I daresay it deserves a thread for its own.

A general thing for all decks: They're supposed to be AI2-3 level, some a bit stronger, some a bit weaker. I especially focused on creating a certain atmosphere and/or story (BtH decks) or tried to create a high amount of variation in play so that people playing the respective deck would not feel bored to soon (Duo series). I also often tried to use synergies and cards that are not too common. Well, have fun, and leave a comment!

1) Duo series

There will be 12 decks, one for each Element. They all have a secondary Element - each one exactly once aswell.
There are certain parallels between all decks, find them out for yourself if you are interested. :p
All decks have an estimated level of 31-39, 100 HP, single mark, single draw and the respective Pillar of their Element as icon.

Spoiler for Apprentice of Entropy:
"The Apprentice of Entropy chose Life as his secondary Element, because it enhances Entropy's strength quite significantly. Ironically, this ended in even more lifes being extinguished... not that he minded."

Reason for the change: This deck can't have cheap creatures (Like Sapphire Chargers in the old version) except Otyughs, because Plate Armor is then wasted on them.

Where do you get your estimated levels? When I set decks to 100HP, 1 Mark, 1x Draw, I get a Level 43 deck.

I test them against the prebuilt NPC's until I reach an equilibrium (For example the deck is level 22 or 23 and clearly stronger than the level 15 Fire starter deck and clearly weaker than the level 30 mono Life).

(You win/lose levels if you win/lose to those prebuilt NPC decks, just in case anyone reading this didn't know. :p)

On another note, the levels really don't mean anything. Zanz himself classified the mono Life rush as level 30, but a deck with 20 HP and Entropy Pillars & Schroedinger's Cats as it's only cards as level 19, the latter obviously being way too high in comparison.

The duo series has been finished!

Wow, that was some work. Please have a look (or even better, just play against them in the trainer) and tell me how you like 'em!

I know that you are basically building by your own guidelines, but I really appreciate the variety in the decks, especially the Duo Series. It really looks how a newer player to an element would want to toss in a bunch of different cards, rather than a more professional, streamlined approach, with 4-6 copies of only the cards you need most. Great work.

I kind of like the Duo series, they look like stronger starter decks of a sort. The decks in the first two parts however look more like PvP/Arena decks than low-level AI decks. It's as if you didn't really follow your own guidelines there.

Well, as I said in my guide...ish post, a great variety of cards is one way to make a good deck, not the only one. If the basic deck idea is interesting enough (I'd say that for the Trident-Toadfish-FW trio, for example), it works another way too. But you're definetly right about some decks of the BtH - part.

And I'm glad you like my decks of my duo series. Quite happy with those too!

Heh, thanks very much. I did put alot of work into this. Have a new mini-series in mind already, I'll see if I can get that done in time.

Meanwhile, anyone willing to help test certain decks in the trainer? You can search for them directly... My concerns are that the Apprentice of Gravity and maybe also that of Death are too weak compared to the others. If you do test, use an unupped deck please, like mono Death or Graboid rush. : o

/e: Decks rearranged based on the feedback I got, a single new deck added (Knight of the Rainbow, named it that way so it fits the other 'Knight of x' that someone else already made a series of which I basically like.)

/ee: Three more BtH inspired decks added. To do list added.

/eee: FGish 'Eternal Luck' posted, but not content with it. Couldn't test it in the Bestiary as multiple marks are bugged there, won't post a better version too soon because there is more important stuff to do: Playtesting all 'Apprentice' decks atm. Already submitted improved versions for Death and Gravity.

After about 6 hours, I'm finally done reworking the Duo Series. I submitted new versions for about half of the decks. Most of the time the deck was simply too weak and there was too much of a difficulty gap to the strongest decks in that series, but I also made some changes to make the decks even more fun to play against. Check out the changes if you like! And if you're in the mood for it, I always appreciate some tests.

I created a new Water deck because Zanz said that we lack Water at the moment. Here it is!

Ice Wall

Level: 6
HP: 60
Mark: x1
Draw: x1

"Every time someone tries to climb the Ice Wall, it grows one frozen fool larger."
