This thread is meant for discussing decks for each round. The round will start with the Salvager making clear what cards we can use for building decks, after that some people will build decks based on what we can build, trying to counter decks as predicted by our Strategist in the Strategy thread (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,23481.0.html).

Final decks will be posted in the Decks (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,23478.0.html) thread.

Yep, it's gonna be a tough round, I think it might be an idea to discard some stuff with this event card, with all them generals we're facing, we'll need it. Now to decide what to discard >_<

I'll whip up some quick ideas, just a concept of how we could do it (question marks are the marks):

Based on those decks, we have everything we need and these are the cards left in vault after that (i.e. which cards can be used to convert to use the event card).

Details can be found in our War #3 tools spreadsheet (https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0ApI-50p2LmlcdGxDYVVSb09sQW53S0EwcGY5cl9Ubmc&hl=en&authkey=CP6rrZ8F).

   Dark Pendulum      93      Discord      4
   Steal      10      Miracle      4
   Minor Vampire      9      Cloak      4
   Devourer      8      Sanctuary      3
Dusk Mantle      8      Black Nymph      3
   Vampire Stiletto      7      Nightfall      3
Liquid Shadow      6      Black Dragon      2
   Lycanthrope      6      Darkness Mark      2
   Antimatter      6      Purple Nymph      2
   Graboid      6      Earthquake      1
   Adrenaline      6      Reverse Time      1
   Nova      5      Shockwave      1
   Drain Life      5      Lighting      1
   Parallel Universe      5      Gargoyle      1
   Owl's Eye      5      Reflective Shield      1
   Blessing      5      Freeze      1
Flying Weapon      4      Obsidian Pillar      1
Converted 4 Dark pendulum for 12 upgraded cards.

Okay, here are my thoughts about the decks...

I'm kinda skeptical with :entropy, :death and :earth counter. The crusader deck seems lacking quanta and AM will be a problem. About the graboid deck, bonewall might be a problem there, since Mr Blonde can use upgraded bonewalls which cost less. For the earth counter, maybe it's just me but I'm quite worried of the upgraded tit shield, which can completely shut down the deck. Maybe we should pack steals and/or dragons?

I'm pretty confident with Torb's deck. However, that deck only have 6 creatures and the fact that RR is a formidable player doesn't help much.

That's what I have in mind right now. There's lots of testing needs to be done and I could really use some help on how to use that GoTP/nighmare deck... :D

It's easy...really. Just use Nightmare when probably 3/4 cards or less in opponent's hand. Use Reverse Times...to get rid of annoying stuff, like Maxwell's Demon or whatever crap. You can also use Nightmare when for emergency healing :)

Or maintaining draw lock : D

As for :death, a few Bone Walls don't hurt when Grabow is played properly (not evolving Graboids, burrowing some Shriekers to prevent all to be caught in a single Plague, hold Purify untill Poison stacks more etc. etc. Grabow is quite versatile), especially since the main damage for such stalls is usually poison, which can be completely nullified by purify. Can't counter everything with one deck obviously, so risks remain.

:entropy matchup was already thoroughly tested by Mithcairion, it does not counter AM, but works well against Discord. Will they still pack Discord the way they did last time? Maybe not, but like I mentioned, my gut tells me they do (why abandon a winning strategy?), and this time, we'll be ready :p

I didn't bother with Steals for :earth matchup, since they know we have Steal, and they could easily pack Enchant Artifacts. This deck works well against Wings, EQ, and Graboids, which is why it was my initial guess. Would love to let that one have some upgrades though, a Tower, Pendulum and Epiniphrine for example (or 3 each :p Steals, Devourers and Pendulums come to mind for sacrificing.)

:water is based on the fact that Darkness loved denying Water last war, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a Light/Water Stall with Sanctuaries. We all know how I ♥ Pestal, and hate Sanctuary.

v.  :entropy: I still don't like that deck. Also, Antimatter. Could try a Cloak or two in place of the Liquid Shadows, I guess.

v.  :life: Quints against an element whose only in-element CC bypasses Quintessence... Other than that, no problems with this.

v.  :gravity: Wish we could put a Stiletto in there for extra damage/healing.

v.  :death: No problems with this.

v.  :time: No problems with this. Maybe replace a vampire with a gargoyle or dragon if think we need damage. I'm thinking they'll rush, though.

v.  :air: I think I'd rather take a Dagger and maybe an Eclipse in place of two of the upped Gargoyles.

v.  :earth: If we see Titanium Shields, we lose.

v.  :water: No problems with this. Freezes could be annoying, though.

I'll try to be more helpful when I haven't just woken up.

Yeah, Entropy has a ton going for it.  There's simply no way we're going to be able to counter them all, though.  This deck has a variety of pillars/pends to help deal with EQs, Cloaks to help protect from EQs and AM, Solar Shields and Sancs to help with the quanta denial, and Sadervamps and Stilettos to help account for the massive damage that they can do.  If they pack Pande, we're screwed.  As it is, this deck CAN still lose, but it gives a very good fighting chance against the

It doesn't even have to be at 3-4 cards, although around there is optimal. As long as you have an extra nightmare in hand, you can play it when they have 4-5 cards (even though thats around the same, considering the effect of GoTP makes a bigger difference). Besides that, Malignant pretty much summed it up. Rewind annoying creatures, keep their draws covered and just keep pounding them 7 attack creatures.

The healing of nightmare isn't really much, you'll only see 2 out of it most of the time. It also loses its effectiveness in war, where you can't change your deck. Since they know most of the deck has to be darkness, it should be clear to them what they're planning. In this case, rewinds are key in making sure their hand gets clogged down.

You can't effectively test this deck against the AI either really, considering that they throw their cards down willynilly most of the time.
You're just as selfish as I am. You're just not as good at it yet.

Rarely do we need 6 shields (18 turns) to end this ans unless they trick us with steal or deflag it Will be a little too many.  It would be a good place to insert a black nymph to protect with quint or maybe a liquid shadow to prevent massive problems.

My match... I really don't like the idea of maybe a sure loss if they play one card (titanium shield) which they clearly can use... it's why I suggested removing 2 pendulums for 1 steal, and upping 3 adrens.

I suspect they will use owl's a lot so we need a few steals in that deck or our devourers will be useless fast

 :water
I'd put a few drain life in it in case they try to go poison on us

The rest seems perfect to me :)

I wish I had a black nymph. That could be helpful later on.

*prays for a good oracle spin*
You're just as selfish as I am. You're just not as good at it yet.
