Here is a link you might find interesting Card Design (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,16655.0.html)

Your Hydra is balanced. (See spoilers for walkthrough on why I say that)

However why would a Hydra be a Water creature? Hercules fought the Hydra on land.

Starting with one of the heads
Unupped
5 [5Attack]
0 [0<HP<6]
-1? ["Hydra Head is destroyed if you do not control a Hydra"]
Cost=4

Upgraded
6 [5Attack]
0 [0<HP<6]
-1? ["Elite Hydra Head is destroyed if you do not control a Elite Hydra"]
-1 [Upgraded]
Cost=4

Looks good.
Note: The value of Hydra Head is 4 but the value of Elite Hydra Head is 5 (the cost reduction due to being upgraded doesn't affect the value calculation)On to the body
Unupped
1 [1Attack]
3 [9<HP]
6 [Spawn a creature worth 4]
-1 [Skill costs 2-3 quanta]
=9

Upgraded
1 [1Attack]
3 [9<HP]
7 [Spawn a creature worth 5]
-1 [Skill costs 2-3 quanta]
-1 [Upgrade]
=9

Again it looks good.

Thanks for the link.  It definitley helps me get a clear understanding of the cards.

Also there are 3 reasons Hydra is water:
1) Real life hydras usually live in water.
2) The Hydra fought Hercules on land, but it's home was a lake.
3) I would like to see Water having a few more cards that aren't reliant on multiple colors.

2) The Hydra fought Hercules on land, but it's home was a lake.

1) Real life hydras are not related to mythological hydras
2) I am ashamed for not knowing this.
3) One of Water's pros is its inborn synergy via duo creatures.

Water makes sense. Thanks for the information on mythology.

A word of warning about the card design link: It may be inaccurate. I welcome you to improve upon it as I did to the previous thread.

No problem.  I'm still slightly new to elements, so I'm not exaclty ready to digest the mechanics yet, but I may try.

Greek mythology sure has the influence in our everyday lives.

I do recommend that the hydra art is on the ground with a lake beside it because I doubt hydras can breathe underwater for a long time.

I recomend a change for the Hydra:
  :life :life Spawn hidra head
Hidra can not die while there is almost one hidra head.
---
That's because in the mithology the hydra could regenerate itself while it has still heads. And I think that life quanta is more suitable for spawning.

I feel that spawning an immortal hydra head would give hydra an unfair advantage, so I decided instead to give Hydra high health.  And there was nothing ever saying it's body was immortal.  I believe the immortal head in the legend was actually it's weakness, as Athena gave Hercules a special sword to cut it off, thus killing it.

CURATOR COMMENT
-Remove the :water icon from the ELEMENT section of the table (for both cards).
-Fix all punctuation discrepancies between the TEXT in the table and the card image (Add a ':' or colon after the :water symbols, and add a period for the unupped card table)

Definitely liking your hand-made card art. ;)

The idea of the 'Hydra Head' being its own standalone card seems a little... weird. It would be the equivalent of throwing a Bomb at your opponent that explodes - the head is summoned and takes a bite of the enemy player, but then just shrivels up and dies? I think it would be more appropriate to have the head as a similar featured to the Ash card, where it's not standalone but reliant on another creature to use.

That's just an opinion though. ^^;

Well really the only reason they're seperate cards is that you could still play them even if Hydra was Lobo'd or instant death sync them with Soul Catcher or Boneyard.  Fixed everything though, and thanks for the compliment on the art.

someone attempted to do a hydra idea about a month or so ago. it is probably back some pages. see what you can learn from what they did. then you can make this work better.

never mind i found the link for you, it is a locked topic.
