Seems like a nice stall to me. Gives Time a little healing. I'm not sure it's better than Procrastination, but, for the cost it might compete for a slot.
Nice card.
In the case of a steady flow of damage each turn, this card will provide less effective damage mitigation than procrastination.
Procrastination blocks 50% physical damage over 2 turns of effective output.
This blocks about 33% physical damage over 3 turns of effective output.
So its about 1/6 or 16.7% less effective in terms of raw damage mitigation.
When certain creature abilities are also considered, it becomes even less effective, since these will also get a "50% mitigation" for procrastination due to delay. This shield provides no such benefit.
Now this shield could provide better than 33% mitigation benefit if the owner could also control fluctuations in enemy damage output appropriately, but I'm hard pressed to fabricate a situation where the mitigation outweighs procrastination's.
Its a very cool concept, but in the long run ends up being a less effective shield.
One good thing it does have going for it, however, is that it is more resistant to steal since the opponent would need a
source to power it.
Its a fun card. I wish it had a little more oomph myself (e.g. I wish it could accumulate / store more than one turn of damage), but considering the low cost it may be okay as is.
At one half the price of procrastination, the cost-benefit may actually lean slightly toward this shield's favor. The low cost also means that it will be useful as a "splash" card that can be thrown into a deck and powered off of a mark or other off element quanta production.
I do like the fact that it is useful to include multiple copies in a deck.
Its all around a pretty decent card. Not spectacularly powerful, but definitely a fun and unique concept.
