I thought it was an interesting connection to make removing immaterial to a Shard, as red can also represent blood and this card is changing the "blood" of the target from immortal to mortal (as well as healing you in the process) or alternatively is fusing the plane of immortality with the plain or mortality.

I was interested by the concept of a red shard that was a creature, but my main problem was how to make something that was Shard-ish.

I went and indirectly asked Nepycros for a name(a one-word positive description of Bloodshadow to be exact), and he provided Materialistic.

After looking around the forums, I found the above effect proposed by Essence. It is currently an ability that is not ingame and would be very interesting to use.  I thought it was an interesting connection to make to the Shard, as red can also represent blood and this card is changing the "blood" of the target from immortal to mortal or vice versa.

but really, compare this to anubis for just quinting purposes...
Its seems fair, but a little too strong, to give every element quint.

But the reverting immaterial creatures part, thats what makes me yell OP

Turquoise Nymph is not UP and Anubis is competing with the Nymph not Quint.
Would still be inefficient vs Buffing a cheaper card and then quniting it.
Sounds like the role of the Nymph (4hp).

So what is the reason for allowing the targeting of untargetable targets?

Thorn Carapace trumps growth easily.

1) I used an idea from another user and wanted to preserve the mechanic.
2) Mass disabling would be pretty strong and a too hard counter.
3) It is meant to thematically fit with the card's name.

There's an error in the bottom of your notes section: material creatures will become IMmaterial, not material.
So, 6 of these and you've got yourself an immortal army. I think it's OP for both. But if  you had just the make immaterial material part, that might work
