Jerk. JK, but your idea is practically identical to my Archetype card Freedom | Independence (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,17183.msg233604#msg233604). Glad to see that the mechanic may have a little light shed on it. T-hee.

Since I posted an idea similar to this, all I can say is I support it. There are several easy ways to counter this, and it doesn't have to be killed in the first place. I approve this card.

Actually, if you follow the thread, you can trace it back to the Phasing ideas currently coming out of the CCC team.

And I will endorse Freedom|Independence (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,16966.msg231335#msg231335)! Even tho the two are similar, this just shows a demand (from two people, at least) for something like this. Yours at least gives at little more freedom to the player (ba-dum ching!), as it's not restrained to only one Element.

PS - I fell in love with the Archetype series! How's it coming?

But I do have one irk with this... Momentum. With that card, only something really powerful could stop this frenzied beast. If there were a way to deal with it (like Quintessence, but letting the opponent attack it) then it would be perfect! Maybe it needs to have a negative effect because of its abrasive attitude?

Momentum + Zealot...hmm...my first thought would be that you'd have to have a little luck on your side to pull the two cards at the right opportunity, unless of course the deck were geared that way. Toss in Sundial for fun. Good point.

Immunity to crowd control, how to get around it? Let's see, some immediate ideas:

1) "Does not attack if opponent has no creatures in play."
2) "None of your other creatures attack if Zealot/Paladin is in play."
3) "You may not target Zealot/Paladin."
4) "Absorb X :light each turn."
5) ...or even "Zealot/Paladin is unaffected by Momentum." Ugly, but it works.


Funny how once righteousness gains momentum it's almost impossible to deal with :P

EDIT: unless you mean Momentum acts in the same manner as Rewind? An Easter Egg effect?

I mean that this card only becomes immaterial when damaged.
Shields are a source of damage
Momentum removes shields as a source of damage
Momentum works against the effect.

Momentum works against the effect.
You've misread. It says that when it deals damage, it means that if it performed a successful attack last turn, then it is immune to damage for the opponent's turn. The counters to this are BB, Infection, AoE effects, Diamond Shield, Phase Shield, Procrastination, etc.

Oh. My mistake. Yeah it + momentum is powerful however it works out to about the theoretical momentum'ed immortal creature cost.

I think a poll is not even necessary. Either you state in the text "this card can't be affected by momentum" or it's fine for it to be. And personally, I think there are more OP combos than this one. Newcomers would be pretty confused if some weird card-specific rule like this, to prevent a certain card interaction, did actually make it to the game.

Nice concept tho :)
