RoL = 1500 coins. Multiple RoL's ~ 4500 coins' worth.

Not to mention this would make Hope way too OP'd. All you'd need to do is have a mark of entropy, light pillars, light dragons and some hope, you've got a deck that's even more powerful than the fractal/RoL. That strategy is already hard enough to beat as is, I don't think this would make it any easier.

I am afraid I do not understand what you are referring to with coins' worth. Upgraded cards typically get the equivalent of 1-2 quanta reduction over an unupped duplicate.

I am afraid I do not understand what you are referring to with coins' worth. Upgraded cards typically get the equivalent of 1-2 quanta reduction over an unupped duplicate.

Ray of Light is free, Fission is not. Not to mention the fact that they are used for different purposes; the main common ground they share is Hope. By that logic you could say why upgrade 6 Scarabs when you could just upgrade a Pharaoh? Or why upgrade 6 Skeletons when you can just upgrade one Graveyard? The list goes on.

"Just slip a few Fission's in there". Pardon? RoL/Hope is already a duo, adding another element would make it ridiculously unstable. And what do you intend to use Fission on, anyway? Light Dragons? Bad idea.

You are cheating the bank of  but paying more quanta in a match. Sound fair? That is how Fractal works.

Fission + Light Dragon costs 16 quanta of 2 types and gives you 6 RoLs.
Ray of Light + Fractal costs 9 quanta of 1 type and gives you ~8 RoLs (including the first).
Fractal is cheaper and gives more.

I think that  shouldn't be considered as a parameter when judging a card.
This card opens possibilities to new deck types. Sure, they're still RoL/Hope, but they can use instead of .
And there are other uses for this card, not only Hope. It widens the metagame.
You can use it with  , Thunderstorm.
With , synergy Fire shield.
With , synergy Empathic Bond.
With every shield that blocks at least 1 damage.

I see no problem with this generating RoLs when upped, it doesn't destroy a combo, it creates a new version of it.

The fission wouldn't be your main strategy, just an additive measure. So it's more like "Fission costs 4 quanta of 1 type and gives you 6 RoLs."

And, mark of , replace some photons with 3-4 fissions, you've just made fractal/RoL stronger than it needs to be.

Forget this example, though. Just explain to me how you think it's balanced. The upgraded version.
