2 random quanta=usable everywhere, perhaps in aether stall or something
1 fire quanta=I need freaking novas!

So your telling me you prefer PA to two pulvies?!  No. When did I ever say that?

This card is too cheap to do what it does. You can't steal immaterial items and it costs more than explosion. Keep in mind that you get to use stolen items, and explosion does it immediatly for less quanta.

And 50% of the time 3 turns is not that big a deal anyway. I just play defensively until the card I want destroyed is gone then go back to business. Explosion might be quicker but its less versatile. There are games that can be determined by 1 turn. If you Deflagged, maybe your rush was able to deal enough damage too win. If you Rusted, your opponent could stall long enough to play a duplicate, or he could possibly deal enough damage to win.

Anyhow I don't think I am going to change your mind but I think that it isn't balanced. No, but you did give me an idea. The effect can be negated by Protect Artifact instead.

That list bit a step in the right direction....

What if Rust destroyed normal permanents, but in the case of immaterial ones only destroyed the  :time marker/ their immaterial status without destroying them?

That sounds workable, I think I will change the effect to that instead.

I like the idea and how it erodes away the permanent/ immaterial status. However, I think the upgraded one shouldn't just cost 2  :rainbow, because that just takes away the connection to the erosion. Maybe 1  :earth:water instead?

Does making Animate Weapon  :rainbow take away the connection to animation? No.  Also, this gives every element a sort of  :rainbow PC that although is pretty weak, it's still able destroy permanents.

Also, I've changed the card so that it only removes immortality instead.

Ah, now when I think about Explosion and all the other powerful PCs, this one does seem relatively weak. That "removing immaterial" is a good touch to buff the card a little.

Also, spelling mistake on the newly editted versions. "Destroy" is spelled wrong on both cards. ;p

Bump, as I've revived this card as an individual idea.

Are there anymore thoughts on the new version before it gets submitted to Crucible?

CURATOR COMMENT
-The upgraded card image's name must reflect that of the table (i.e. - it should be 'Rust' instead of 'Erosion'). Both cards also cannot be named Erosion, as there is already a set of cards name that within the Water Crucible polls: Erosion | Erosion (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,21494.0.html)

I really like the 'delayed' destruction effect; it's a really nice touch for Water to gain a form of hard (yet 'soft') permanent control. I personally don't think it would be used in Fire Stalls however, since the two cards (Water + Fire) is a hard combo to pull off already, and Reflective Shield (1 :light) is much cheaper and easier to pull the Fire Lance OHKO. This might also encourage the use of Ice Lance-Stall OHKO decks, which would be a (slightly, but not really ^^;;; ) refreshing change to their play style, and also demolish the nastiest immaterial permanent of them all: Hope.

Nice work on this one Zblader. :)
