When it says any eight, the creature/spell/permanent restrictions count as 4, not 1, right?

They count as one. You can follow as many as you want.

Example:

• NAME RESTRICTION: The names of your cards must not be the same, must not use the words "Elite", "Improved", "Deadly" or any color, gemstone, or name of an element.
• COST RESTRICTION: The upgraded card must cost double the unupgraded card. This means the upgraded card will always cost an even number.
• COST RESTRICTION: (In this example I have played 2 matches, and beat 2 opponents last round.) The unupgraded card must cost the number of matches you have had to play, including this one. The upgraded must cost the same as the number of opponents you defeated in your last match, multiplied by 2.
• TEXT RESTRICTION: Must have no way of damaging the opponent on the turn it is played, without the help of other cards.
• TEXT RESTRICTION: (The unupgraded has the cost of 1 hp to all of your own creatures) Must have an additional cost, or drawback, other than its basic quanta cost.
• If a spell, it must be or .
• If a spell, it must not require targeting.
• If a spell, it must have an effect on a creature or creatures.

I have intentionally _not_ looked into who made which card. I enjoyed voting much more this round than previous rounds. I recommend future CDW's have voting with submissions shown independent / without player-creator names.

Congratulations Aves!

Aves' brow was drenched with sweat, and his crafting-fingers ached for the first time. Never in any of his previous battles had his Card Designing skills been tested so severely. Linkcat lay prone before him, panting his last breaths. Aves felt almost sorry for his feline foe. At one point in their battle, their wills had clashed so violently that Aves had almost expected the Linkcat to pounce and gain the upper hand... but it wasn't to be.
