It was a dark night, long ago, when the Elemental War began. Every Element had every other Element reigning down on it with no mercy. Some battles were won, others lost, and mass destruction had fallen over the lands. On the night of 1.30 DE(During Elements) the creator of the world looked down on the fighting Elementals. With a deep breath, the creator shouted down blessing from up high and enchanted the Elementals in hopes they would survive better. Each blessing granted the Elementals a special ability to help them survive the war, or bring it to an end quicker.

Rules:

• All abilities must be active(clicking on it to activate it).
• You may have up to 3 submissions, but not more than one submission per element. For example, you cannot have two Earth mark submissions, but may have one Earth, and one Fire.
• Submitted cards cannot have an activation cost that uses a different Element. All activation costs must cost the same as the Mark card you use.
• Abilities cannot be ones that already exist in the game. For Example: the Water mark cannot have the Freeze ability.
• Abilities should not be overpowered or underpowered.
• All submissions must use the Card Submission Format show below.
• All submissions must be posted in the Competition Submission Board.

PHASES:
The competition will be split into three phases : A Design Phase, where cards are created and submitted in the Card Idea Submission Thread, a Elemental Voting phase, where votes are cast for individual Elements, and a Final Vote phase where all winners from the previous Vote are voted on.

I'm guessing that we don't have to waste space on "Each turn [element] is generated," and can't give these cards continuous abilities (even if we fulfill the criteria of giving them one active ability)?

Er, activated*, and @Kami: the wiki had used "active" to label non-passive abilities (therefore anything written under the creature, including continuous abilities), with abilities activated by clicking being referred to as "triggered active[ abilitie]s"

The problem is that is Mark cards get abilities then those abilities would make mark cards strictly superior to pillars unless the mark has a disadvantage to compensate for the option of using an activated ability. Alternatively the mark could have a higher cost to play. Since everyone gets 1 for free they would all need to cost the same. The higher cost to play option would prevent the option of vanilla marks unless the vanilla mark were buffed to match the cost of the non vanilla cards.

That is the closest I can get to giving overpowered and underpowered meaning in this context.

So much overthinking and nitpicking at the details. I don't think anyone here is confused by any of the rules. Not overpowered/underpowered means exactly that. No auto win ability, no killing all of your opponents creatures. Be smart about your abilities. Same for underpowered.

Also, it does not matter if multiple mark cards are played with these abilities. THey stack upon your mark and you can only click the stack of marks then. Which means one ability as far as I am concerned since there is nothing comparable to that effect.

And the rules say the triggered ability must be of the mark's element, meaning no generic costing abilities.

And to name the threads, just name them the same as the mark card, but add your name to the end to give it a little more distinguish from each other.

The nature of these cards is still confusing, though.

Does our mark just come with the ability without us needing to put it in our deck? (If so, what is the point of the upgraded card?)
If we play it, will it increase our mark by 1?
Are we assuming that they're implemented alongside marks or replace the current marks?
Does the upgraded card also increase your mark by 1 without generating an extra quantum instead of being played in the permanent spot?

Until these questions are answered, it's a bit difficult to understand the limits of card design, and making an example never does harm.
