Are the Masters obligated to enter this? By this, I'm not saying that I won't enter - I'll probably enter eventually.

As for Devourer decks, I'll probably use a Devourer-Fractal deck. But still, I'd rather use an Aether Mark for that deck.

I propose a change: For Masters, if your deck is 50+% your own element, then you can use a different Mark. Otherwise, for me the Dark/Earth denial deck would not be possible without the Earth Mark, unless I put in Stone Pillars.
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.

Agreed.

The change has been made to the rules (with an important exception: your deck and sideboard must both be 51% your chosen element, so 16 and 6 cards assuming a 30-card deck), and any Masters that have submitted a deck are free to change it this one time.

Oh, and Masters aren't obligated to enter -- but they should.
If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

Right now there are two restrictions to the Masters. Perhaps you should clarify that those two restrictions are EITHER OR - they do not BOTH apply. I know that you said so on the first page, but someone might not see it.

Count me in, but no idea for a deck yet. Mono Light could be possible, but so would other cool "Light stuff". Also, if I pick, say, Mark of  :) (Yes, I mean Mark of  :)!) can I keep mark of  :light in my sideboard?

EDIT: I forgot to say that I'm signing in for the Rest of the World.

Rules:

  • Signups are open for a week, starting today.  The larger team will be trimmed down to the size of the smaller team by eliminating players who were the last to sign up.
Oh, thats the clause for waiting. And with only 2 players on the "World" posted right now, looks like Essence and Xdawnbydeath will be the only ones playing.

Hey wait a sec, I was the second person to post a deck, should I be 2 on the list of people who signed up?[/list]

Shouldn't the decks be sent privately, apart from the signup thread? I don't want to have a disadvantage by signing up too early and having someone build a deck to beat mine, or vice versa.

That's why you should just edit your deck completely the day before.
I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.

JMizzle, no one is going to make a deck specifically to beat yours because no one knows if they're ever going to end up playing you.  Even if they did the seed-math and knew they had you as a first opponent, building a deck to counter yours is a dumb move because they'll fail against their next two opponents (as custom-'beat-this-deck'-decks always do against decks that aren't their specified foe.)

In fact, since everyone seems so tense about this whole deck-beating thing, I'm changing the first-round seeding process to one that is not going to be announced until after signups are over.  That way no one has any idea who they'll be facing in any given round, and this ridiculous 'oh noes I'z posting my strategiez too soon' concept can finally be laid completely to rest.

Terroking, editing your decks is specifically disallowed.  You and only you have a single opportunity to do so due to the rules change.
If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

Jmizzle has a point, and it's the same point I made earlier.

Are you seriously saying that you see no advantage in designing your deck after everyone else has posted theirs?

Sure you cannot build a counter to all of them, but you might be able to find some common weaknesses in many of them, like universal lack of permanent removal for example. After all we are not talking about thousands of decks here, we are talking about a handful.

I'm anxious about this deck-countering business. Unless that's changed, I'll sign up on the LAST day to avoid being at a disadvantage.
