Right... Puppy gets to use graboids, I don't....

Anyways, just said that since it had to be done. The real reason for this post was:

Shouldn't it be score instead of posts? I realize that score changes, but so do posts. ANd posts only represents how long you've een on the forum, which frankly has almost nothing to do with this event.
:D. And Terro, think Aether/Earth. >_>...

As to it being score, does it really matter? Most vets have a high post count too; and some good players without that high of a score (like you) have high post counts.

I don't care what seed I am as long as it's high.
But you need the cards for that. I don't have any non-rainbow or non Earth upped cards except come rares and a few fire ones. Since someone'll say to get farming, I am.
I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.

If the people for USA exceed those of the rest of the world too much, I may join this. For now, I'll just sit back and observe other people's decks.

Also, Masters have restricted Marks? IMO a terrible idea. Just as Terro said, it is nothing other than a simple disadvantage to the Masters. This is not like an "element vs element" event, so restricting Marks achieves nothing.

Restricting Marks achieves one thing: it separates the Masters from the Masses.  That's all it needs to do.

Why do we NEED to separate the Masters from the normal users? If you say that Masters have more experience than normal people, then there are plenty of veterans who are not Masters. I don't see any reasons why Masters should suffer such a disadvantage. Please don't say it's for symbolic and/or sentimental reasons, because I do value practicality.

Mmnkay. Disregarding the fact that I said I'd stop since I have points that need to be said;

Having the mark restricted barely effects the deck. For example, Puppy is the Master of Time, yet he's using an almost mono-earth deck. You can't say that's representing your element with a straight face.
I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.

Us masters are so good we need a restriction for us to make it fair.

That said, even without the restrictions, I probably wouldn't change my deck. Might go something with black holes or a speed rainbow though...

Practically, the reason for the restriction is to make sure that the Masters are actually fulfilling their role of "proponents and exemplars of their chosen element".  Each PvP event has unique rules, but all of them share the quality of having an aspect that specifically nudges the Masters into their role.  The Master's Competition was very strict, the proposed War rules were less so, and this event is the least strict of all.

In fact, Terroking just ninja'd me and said exactly that.

PuppyChow is showing the players what a Time mark is good for.  That his deck happens to be mono-Earth is irrelevant to the fact that, without Time, that deck wouldn't be possible.  That's representing Time, straight up.

You can continue to look at the rule as a restriction, or you can see it for what it is: a rare opportunity to display what your element can do in a supporting role instead of as the main player.

How would you feel vs. a devourer deck? Not that one's been posted yet...

Erm, Essence, without Earth mark, my deck would be exactly the same. Same with your water deck. It'd be slower, true, but it'd be the same deck, just pretending that you had 1 less tower the whole game.

True -- those Masters who do want to exemplify their element wholly can still totally do that.  I have no problem with that, I'm simply trying to give the rest of the Masters some perspective on my perspective.
