Spoiler for Submission 1:
The Hands of Glory

Rumoured to be operating across the realms of Elementia, but especially within the Church of Light, the Hands of Glory is believed to be a close-knit organisation of men and women trained to project forth the spirits of holy warriors of ages past and endowing them with mighty weapons of the present. Contrary to what their name would imply (you see, the Hand of Glory is an artifact of great maleficence), to even dream of applying, a good standing in the community the person is in is a MUST. There's one aspect the rumours don't cover, however, because of those who witnessed it as their enemy aren't usually alive to tell the tale: their uncanny ability to recover from the brink of death, turning near defeats into certain victories.

After an acolyte mastered the projection of holy warriors, they tend to forge their own path, developing spells to complement their martial summons and martial weapon. Their choice of martial weapon, however, is a great first aid of identifying what sect the acolyte will tend to affiliate with. We will review four of the major sects of these so-called 'Hands of Glory'.

Sect of the Deathly Hallow

With the mastery of the poisonous weapon Arsenic, a warrior of the Sect of the Deathly Hallow brings with them the power of the Death Angel. There are even rumours that a member of the Sect of Toxikon is also capable of summoning unholy beings from the grave itself or spread disease among their enemy's army, although they still have to be confirmed. What's true, though, is that they truly accept that death is inevitable and there are other things much worse than death.

Notorious for their generally aloof disposition unless their society is threatened, a warrior of the Sect of the Ivory Tower seemingly isolates themself from worldly concerns, while the truth is that they're solving them with alarming efficiency. Indeed, just as the Hands of Glory's name belies a requirement of a good standing, the Sect of the Ivory Tower's name belies the fact that many of its members takes an active participation in the society.

Sect of the Cloak and Dagger

While not everyone in the Sect of the Cloak and Dagger actively uses a Cloak in battles or even cloaks themselves from worldly affairs, one can be assured that when you run into one, you run into someone that truly acknowledges, and made peace with, the so-called 'dark side' of a person. They will also harness that dark side of themself, however, so be cautious not to get on their bad side.

Relying on a thermal runaway to get its damage off the charts, this Sect is known for the mild temper that, again, belies the Sect's name. Indeed, rather than fueling their fire on its destructive qualities, the Sect of the Firemen prefers to fuel their fire on its creative qualities.

Spoiler for Submission 2:
Not far away lies a deserted Empire, abandoned by life and forgotten by merciless time. This Empire was known for it's glorious buildings and wealthful civilization. Some even went as far, as calling this land "The Jewel of History". Now, however, that gem is laying on the shores of Nile, for it has lost it's wonders and glory. Egypt, once the mighty empire, lies in sand and dust of time. Some, though, say that Egypt isn't abandoned, but dormant. Rumor goes, that it's waiting for the Old Gods to remember their creation and reach their divine hands to bring it back to wealth and serenity.

Spoiler for Submission 4:
The World of Elements was peacefully ruled by Zanzarino. It was a beneficial environment where all were welcome and the laws were the opposite of strict. Over time, though, hundreds of years passed, and Zanzarino suddenly disappeared. Word came out that Zanzarino was taken hostage by Incarnate and his children. Zanzarino was becoming possessed, but in his last controllable breath, he killed Incarnate, but not his children of 12, or his Soul. That... was the role of the Overlord.

The Incarnate Child of Entropy, Pandemodus, is a chaotic individual. He liked rowdy parties and often played tricks on his friends, enemies, and even siblings. He is a menace on the battlefield, as no one knows what this trickster might do.

The Incarnate Child of Death, Ostekudd, is quite the weight on others. He likes annoying them and getting whatever he can out of it, and even got into a few scandals. This child, along with the Umbra Incarnate, Eclipso, was the main reason Zanzarino was imprisoned and possessed. On the battlefield, he will hurt himself a little to hurt you a lot. He tends to be very reckless, however.

The Incarnate Child of Gravity, Akebonos, likes control. He wants to lead and conquer. He is also very aggressive, has a short temper, and is very, very determined. On the battlefield, he goes straight in, aiming to come straight out. He will never let up until you are a pile of negligent scrap.

The Incarnate Child of Earth, Ardenardel, has a literal heart of steel. He wants things to be in order, and he is down to earth at all times. He rushes down all who stand in his way of whatever he feels like doing, and this is no more apparent than during battle. Ardenardel WILL get his way.

The Incarnate Child of Life, Gradix, is energetic, fast, and always ready. She often drives her brothers crazy to the point of sheer annoyance. She even flirts with her brothers, but who can blame her, she's the only girl in her family. On the battlefield, she will rush you down while keeping herself healthy, and after she destroys your hopes of even getting close to winning, she'll act like the fight never even happened.

The Incarnate Child of Fire, Flekti, is a very determined spirit. He's very in tune with Gradix and Akebonos, even stating he would like to marry Gradix. If he falls, he gets right back up, like there was no pain at all. Flekti fights like a tank, using whatever scraps he can and then making a huge profit of seemingly useless things. If you let your guard down, you'll be dead in a matter of seconds.

The Incarnate Child of Water, Zethiken, likes hiding in the shadows. He's like a sly fox, waiting to catch his prey, just like that. He pressures many of his enemies into doing things for him, even targeting his more gullible siblings, specifically Akebonos. Zethiken was given the name "Ze Thinkin?" because of his high intelligence and almost foolproof tactics, and this shows in his astonishing performances. His deck may be bland, but his strategy... isn't.

The Incarnate Child of Light, Ramilce, is the most resilient of the children. He often stops fights between the other children and allows them to focus; working as a team. Ramilce is also one of the more "in charge" children; a leader, taking up for what he thinks is right. On the battlefield, he is the exact opposite. When it comes to outsiders, Ramilce is one of the first people to attack, doing everything in his power to succeed and best his opponent.

The Incarnate Child of Air, Jakatis, is an uncontrollable spirit that will never be contained. He has a mindset, and he's going to stay in that mindset no matter what his siblings think of him. Ironically, he tries to be in control, like many of his siblings. His strategy is fast and focused, just like he is, and you can NOT let up.

The Incarnate Child of Time, Ripplin, is a reckless, yet efficient personality. Ripplin had to get his jokes in, and he would always challenge the other children to a mock fight, even placing some of the stupidest bets out there. He is a planner, and that's no more evident than the climaxes of battle. He is up there with Flekti and Gradix as one of the fastest children out there.

The Incarnate Child of Darkness, Eclipso, is like a spider bite: subtle... then WHAM! Just like that, you can't do anything. He often antagonizes his siblings, even pressuring them to do things they don't want to. He only tends to get along with Ostekudd, as they have the same interests and are often partners in crime. Eclipso is no slouch, and he will try to take every other approach than the expected one. Eclipso likes trickery, and if you don't, well... I can't say much.

The Incarnate Child of Aether, Sylo, is one intelligent person, knowing what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. Sylo is definitely the only one who could possibly have a chance against Zethiken in a battle of wits, and because of their similar traits, they get along well like a charm. Sylo's strategy is quite flexible. So what if you have a Jade Shield? He might take a lot of damage per turn, but he is very adaptive. If you think you've won, keep going; prepare for everything.

The children did not seem like enough to Incarnate, so he knowingly kept his soul and invaded Zanzarino's body... possessing him. Zanzarino was forced to be a slave to the Incarnate. There was one thing that Zanzarino obtained, and that was a good setup... 75 quanta of each element... and a deck that is more than meets the eye.

Zanzarino was a stressed man, and Incarnate took him in at his darkest hour... the anger fueled in the possessed vessel. Yet, Zanzarino stayed resilient... fighting the curse, with the Overlord's help. It seemed that his strategy countered every other... but both Zanzarino and the Overlord found a way to separate vessel and curse.

The curse, lifted, had to fight for itself... and it would not rest until Zanzarino was his and the Overlord lay on the ground, with no quanta to hold himself in form... Soul Incarnate attempted one last time... fighting with a deck that seemed faster than lightning, with the major bolster of 75 quanta of each element.

The Overlord... recognized as a hero by Zanzarino, gained Zanzarino's trust and was given one wish... "I wish for Elements The Game to be reborn; as a game, a community, and a place where those with common interests can mingle and converse." Zanzarino, shocked at the Overlord's selflessness, gave him that wish, and ruled the World of Elements once again, and without incident as well, due to Incarnate's banishment. Without the grant of this deck and 75 quanta of every element to show the Overlord's mastery, it is said that this legend would not exist, and the World of Elements would be buried under kilometers of ash.

Using a massive dragon as counterweight, the Trebuchet can launch 90kg Titans over 300 Meters. With such a massive range it is the first weapon in the graviton army to deal damage during any battle. The Graviton Salvagers maintain and arm the trebuchet, also they gather more projectiles for it after battle.

The young soldiers, while a bit weaker due to their (at this point) incomplete training, are highly energetic. An elite armagio teaches them how to defend themselves, while the elite charger shows them how offense is the best defense. The Graviton Guard makes sure they find the right balance for themselves between the two styles.

These elite guards protect gravity's greatest treasure (a piece of its very essence) with their life. All of them are ready to shield it with their bodies and to terminate any threat to it they will go past their limits.

Spoiler for Submission 7:
Magdalena, The Immortal Seer
Spoiler for Hidden:
The World of Elements was once run by the great council, each Element had the opportunity to put forth a new candidate from their land every year, though many served for decades. None, however, could match the term of Magdalena, who served the council for many thousands of years. Born with the powers to see through time, she was the only being outside the Time Elementals to ever become a seer, and her combined knowledge over Time and Dimensions played a key part in holding the council strong through the land's most difficult crises and wars.

Over time, many elements became unhappy with the system of equal representation. Greedy leaders turned the people against the council, pushing for power for their themselves, and many devastating conflicts arose, tearing continents apart, and costing the lives of many. In an attempt to keep the council safe, Magdalena passed on the secrets to Aether's immortality to other members, the most forbidden act amongst her people. Many council members were executed, to prevent this knowledge being spread any further, few escaping and becoming reclusive. Magdalena herself was immune to such a fate, Aether had little advantage in the war, and could not afford rebellion within the element. She was taken captive, unable to speak to outsiders, and became the figurehead to new leadership.

Seeing long ago that she would one day have no abiity to communicate in the present, she left echoes of herself across time and space, for those who would require her aid in desperate times, and her ghost reunited the surviving council members. With the secrets of Aether in their hands, they created a small force, dedicated solely to the removal of Aether's dictators, and the creation of a new council.

Grzecszkreijche, the Legendary Druid
Spoiler for Hidden:
As a young man, he spent most of his time healing wounded elementals on the front lines of battle fields. He later joined the council, as age caught up with him, and he was no longer fit enough for such a task, and moved onto the invention and distribution of herbal medicine. After the fall of the council, he started dabbling in more dangerous medicines and experiments. He collected the bodies of fallen elementals, repurposing them as mutants, hardened for the battle field with many dangerous abilities. Magdalena vowed to exile him from the council, when the war was over, judging his actions as serious war crimes.

Well, let's take a look.

1. I like the idea an the execution. All four decks represent an actual army, that varies and has similarities with its counterparts. Cool meme, +1 point
2. Meh. Not an army, more like a cut version of pantheon. I mean, look at how many deities Egypt had, why is there only four?
3. I don't think this can be classified as hierarchy, as there's little to no connection between the decks. Sorry. =\
4. This one is too big and messy. Decks have very little in-common and the lore doesn't really help the situation.
5. Actually a very interesting idea and a great execution. Great meme, probably my favorite. +1 point
6. Idea was quite generic, as it's fairly easy to make an army out of  :gravity, but the execution is fantastic. Like the submission, but don't have a spare point :c
7. Much like 4th one, decks have barely anything in-common, and even though lore kinda explains why this is the way that it is, I still don't think it's worth a point.

Hierarchy

Tiebreaker!

Submission 1 and Submission 5 have proven their mettle, tying for first at 7 votes apiece! But this state of affairs cannot last, and one must be chosen as the victor! Vote now to decide the winner!

Sect of the Ivory Tower
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink

7jo 7k2 7k2 7k5 7k5 7k5 7k5 7k5 7k5 7la 7n5 7n5 7n5 7n8 7n8 7n8 7n8 7n8 7oe 7oe 7oe 7oe 7oe 7oe 7oe 7oe 7oe 7oe 7oe 7oe 8pq

Sect of the Firemen

Relying on a thermal runaway to get its damage off the charts, this Sect is known for the mild temper that, again, belies the Sect's name. Indeed, rather than fueling their fire on its destructive qualities, the Sect of the Firemen prefers to fuel their fire on its creative qualities.

Spoiler for Submission 5:
The Guild of Mirrors

It is a process, my apprentice. Heat, cooling... the sands.... the glass must be clear, the tools, sharp. I wish to study every eyelash, every pore of my face.

Bravely, they trundled into the desert. The sand salvagers journeyed with a Guard, and were lead by the site Warden. As they approached the site, they squinted, shielding their eyes from the lazy Damselflies and Scarabs fluttering in the gritty breeze. The Warden told them to be respectful, and not dig in the dunes too close the the palace, or the Pharaoh would be angry. He told them not to dig too close to the pyramids, where Mummies were still known to rest. Watching closely for Scorpions, they set up camp, and waited patiently for the Glasses to fill.

It starts by plunging the Flaming Sword deep into the kiln, and embers immediately come to life. The Master Glazier slowly introduces more blades to the smelt, using magic to animate the dancing flames. Small creatures who like to feed on the flickering embers are attracted to the blaze, and the Glazier simply flicks them into the inferno, further raising the heat. A brave man. Once the sands are molded into liquid glass, he gives it with care to the Shaper.

First, and most importantly, the molten glass is purified. Then, with great focus, the Shaper extracts every spec of dust and grit from the smelt, until nothing but perfection is left. Now he must hurry, his process going into overdrive. The pane is rapidly cooling and congealing, but he succeeds in using great force to stretch and weigh down areas of the glass, until, just before it becomes to brittle to shape, we have a perfect pane of glass.

Four wise scholars in the movement and secrets of light sit at each corner of the pane. They carefully bounce rays of light at high intensity over the back surface of the pane, and when it has been warmed by the intense rays, they pour an iridescent, refined glazing essence over the surface. It spreads itself over the glass, and once cooled, forms a reflective surface so pure, that every detail of whatever is in front of it can be seen in minute detail. A new, perfect work of art has been created.

Just another day in the Elemental Guild of Mirrors.
