Ok so the idea I had with Gift was that it would go around the protect. As you are not targeting, destroying or stealing whatever permanent is in that slot it would be treated as if the player had played the card therefore replacing it with your card.

I do like your suggestions and have often thought how good it would be to nullify my Malignent Cells and boost my vultures and bone wall as well as boneyards all at the same time, basically doing double damage everytime you use ROF on yourself. ALthough this may get a bit OP at times.

I like the idea of Eclipse giving -1 to creatures but that really sits with opposing Elements so would proably effect Light and Life rather than all of them.

I envisage this card as being used to nullify the effect of sheild spammers and mass weapon users.

Thanks for your input and never worry about hijacking my threads as long as it is constructive.

Hmm, this is the third topic I've seen today suggesting a card which in one way or another, bypasses the immortality/protection feature.

Just out of interest, what did you vote for here? (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,2839.0.html)

Maybe Eclipse should do +1/+1 (+2/+1 upgraded) to Death/Darkness creatures and
maybe it should do -1/-0 (-2/-0 upgraded) to all creatures?

My thinking behind this is, to use it offensively, it would only really be useful if your opponent uses Life/Light - whereas, to use it defensively it is almost 100% certain that if you have an Eclipse in your deck, you will have mostly Death/Darkness creatures :).

Anyways, back to your idea.

If it does go through immortality on a permanent, then it is quite powerful, but in order for it to work - you would presumably have to carry a few 'non essential' weapons like Daggers or some Skull Shields as fodder for using this. Most streamlined decks I know only have 1 or 2 main weapons, and you would hate to give it to your opponent just for the sake of 'he has something better'.

For me it Eclipse should do both, +1|+1 to death/dark and -1|-0 to all life/light creatures in play (with the upgrade you suggested). I would find this a valuable addition and could be interesting to use although dark and death are already pretty strong espicially aginst life.

Hmm yes i see your point about weapon carrying just incase but there are some good ideas for using it:

Example:
I have 3 dragons in my hand, a phase shield, a steal and one gift I also have enough quantum to play all of them this turn if I choose.

My opponent has just wiped my board clean, has 27 Health but has a Bonewall with 36 points on it.

Ok so my choice at the moment is to just stand there and take it. But with Gift I can play my phase shield and gift it to him thus bring his bone wall effect down to 3 turns.

I then use steal to take my shield back and play my dragons.

Voila I win.

Just an idea about its game use.

Thanks for the feedback

Yup, or, suppose you have full health, a couple of vulchers, but little offence while your opponent has spammed 20 little creatures..

you play fireshield + graveyard.. gift the graveyard to your opponent, RoF his spammed cratures, take the damage (which kills all of the skellies) and now you have 40/41 vulchers ready too kill all :P

This is one of the coolest things I have seen in a while. Plus it gives an element with little control over the game a little more of the above.

you don't have to apologize, its even better like this because this way more people pay attention on this interesting way of destroying untargetable weapons, and also it give a lot of new possibilities^^

I would have a lot of fun giving decks a Dissipation Field and then watching their quanta stockpile vanish under a nomnomnom of Amethyst Dragons.  :)

BTW, all dragons come in nomnomnoms, just like ravens come in murders and lions come in prides.  :p
If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

Thanks Essence and Ivalmian, more great uses for this card in our decks.

Also thanks for the update on a dragon group being called a nomnomnom.

Hope all have had fun with this card and hopefully it will be of use in the future as the game develops.

I think a group of dragons is more accurately called a "Weyr" of dragons or a "Flock" of dragons (or a Tatsu. :D)

Umm, I got an idea for renaming it! White Elephant.

A White Elephant is an unwanted gift. Simple.

Meh, I've seen other more useful and important cards :)

But it is a nice idea.

What is a more fundamentally changing card than this  ?

The amount of possibilities it brings (and also the amount of OTHER cards that can be introduced to synergise with this) is huge!
