So you have an idea for a card.
First, what you want is this tool. It's known as the card image builder.
1: Element. Pick the element you would like to use. If you want to use a custom element, refer to advanced - pseudoquanta.
2: Card types. Pick whether your spell is a creature, a permanent, or a spell. The image at the bottom right of the card. If you pick a creature, remember to use a pipe ( | ) to separate ATK and HP.
3: The name. Sometimes people come up with the name first, some people come up with the name last.
4&5: 5 refers to the card cost. That's how much quanta of a given type the card will cost to play. 4 is a box that determines whether the card costs specific quanta; Think luciferin and animate weapon.
6: If your card is in the Armory, and you want to use art for your card, you may upload one from your computer.
Note that the card art is the actual art of the card - the entire card itself is referred to as the card image.
Also note: Only use card art you own. You may find free card art HERE or feel free to ask the community HERE.7: The rules text. State what your card does here. State anything major on the card, and state the cornerstone cases later.
8: If you want to add elemental symbols to your rules text, use the row of elements above the post of forums button, found in the middle.
9&10: Click upload to imgur on both cards when you're finished. After that, click post to forums to continue to step 2.
Step 2:
1: Credit the artist or art source if there is one.
2: Credit yourself for being awesome enough to make the card.
3: Note any cornerstone cases of your card.
5: If you have a weapon card, put its ATK | HP in the noted box. Remember to use a pipe ( | ).
4: After everything is done, generate forum code, copy the giant weird code, click post in forums. Make sure that your thread title is formatted as "X | Y" including the spaces.
After you click post in forums, this screen will open. This is the last step - simply fill in the thread name as shown and paste the code in the main box, then hit "Post":
And this is the end result. People will post on your card and give feedback on how to improve it.
If people like it enough, feel free to post it under the crucible.
And if they don't, just remember this:
Most of the cards most people make are junk. And if you're new to this, most of the cards you'll make to start off with will probably also be junk.
So it's best to get them out of the way and move on. It just makes the first excellent card even sweeter.
Please always credit any art you use
to the proper artist when you put it on a card. (E.g. "Thomas Anderson" instead of "Google") If a website hasn't explicitly labeled its images as free to use or open source, please keep in mind there is likely a copyright on the site's image by default. If you wish to use copyrighted works, please ask the artist for permission first. You can find a lot of free usable card art
here and
here.
