I think there is a card in the crucible or forge now that basically does this... Apocalypse or Armegeddon... can't remember of the top of my head.

^ Why so? I majorly increased the cost of the upped, as you can see. The unupped isn't really that good, you would need a fractal or an aflatoxin if you wanted it to be like the upped. Well, actually it would be ridiculous against a chimera... I can see where you're coming from.

in fire decks it's very easy to run a bunch of pillars and get enough fire quanta to use this. combined with firebolt=GG

Right, and kill all your own creatures in the process. Upped still kills yours.

It is almost identical to this in many respects except that it also consumes all your quanta afterwards.

I recall a couple other previous attempts as well... I think someone did one for using a similar name a few years ago.

^ Attempting to salvage my card, and probably failing somewhat badly: My unupped version does something completely different (having less creatures than your opponent will have an impact) and that one destroys your permanents as well.

The unupgraded version may have some real potential actually since it will only wipe out as many enemy creatures as it does your own. That puts a little more limit on potential abuse and may help make balancing it a little easier.

The upped version is so different that I think maybe it actually needs a cost increase.

Other than the fact phoenix exists which would make it a relatively cheap instakill, the unupped is more balanced than the upped one.

Hm, maybe bump the upped cost even higher?

And maybe make it instant kill pheonixes, ignoring ability?
