NOTES:
A continuation of my effect-based-on-number-of-cards-in-hand series.

The first one is called Blue Charger | Deep Charger which may deal double damage depending on opponent's number of cards in hand
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,45663.msg1028675/boardseen.html

Now this illuminator is a defensive variation of Blue Charger. Its ability depends on your number of cards in hand.

Since the effect is cumulative and it gets triggered quite easily when you are at low HP, I give this card a relatively low HP and high cost to avoid abuse.

The attack is mid-range because light always lacks a mid-range attacker in unupped environment.

I'm still looking for the art of this card and I hope someone can help me with that. The picture in my mind would be a crusader-like humanoid, not a flying lantern or something.

I'll comment on your card if you comment on mine (mine links from the "and").

I'd say that this seems pretty balanced overall but that the upped looks a little weak compared to the unupped. I might push the upped to 5 | 5 or decrease the cost to 5 :light and make the stats 4 | 4.

Question: Why healing alone instead of Luciferin? I think Luciferin makes much more sense with the name you've given.

Because Luciferin includes the :light giving effect, I think.

Yes, that's why we call the card/ability "Luciferin" ^^
The thing is, Illuminator sounds like something that would produce light, like Ray of Light, Solar Shield/Buckler, and Luciferin. However, it just heals...something that I can't connect with illuminating. It's like giving a large and scary monster from some well-known mythology the stats 1|1, or giving a card called Grim Reaper an ability as random as generating permanents. So, if it doesn't thematically produce light, I don't see why it's called Illuminator, and would suggest a name change.

Not necessarily. Illuminator is more like shedding light on something, or giving hope (which is the current case), not producing light.

Illuminator is giving hope (which is the current case)
I'd question the extent to which that's being portrayed in the card mechanic, but since there are cards in the game with worse connections, that would just be pedantic.
So you win, I'll stand down. For now.

I think this would be better if it would link to Max HP. Otherwise it gets an anti-synergy with SoD and Stone Skin.

E.g. "N=(max HP/HP) times 10."

As Fireleaf mentioned, the upped version seems a little weak to me.

With a lot of these in play (ie. fracta-lumination) you could have quite a serious amount of healing each turn...
By the way, if one of these guys got hit with adrenaline and attacked 3 times (like it would) how many times would this skill spark off.
Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?

1. Apologize for my lack of patience. Since this is kind of a new card mechanic, I really want to get more opinions from the community.

2. The name Illuminator is meant to be hope-giver or something like that. It does give you hope because of its effect only gets strong when you get weaker (lower HP), meaning that it gives you the hope of turning the tide and avoiding death.

3. I'm not sure about the anti-synergy with SoD and stone skin. Max HP does not affect this card. Only your current HP and number of cards in hand will determine whether you gain 10 HP or not.

4. I may increase the attack of upped version to 6 if it is considered too weak. I refuse to increase the HP because it has no summoning sickness (automatic activation, like devourers) which means you get at least 10 HP from it if you are doing it right. Assume you pack 6 of this in deck and only draw 3 of them, you still get healed for 30HP whenever you HP gets low. This possibly the best healing per turn if you can activate it every turn.
