Hrm... Overall, I like the idea behind this card. My main concern is that the upped version has a large advantage over the unupped- it'd be like having the lava destroyer gain +3|+3 from growth while leaving the lava golem untouched. That said, I think that the upped one is more balanced- so I'd either increase the stats, increase the growth, or decrease the cost. Personally, I would leave the growth untouched- it gives Forbidden an advantage I'd expect to see from an upped card. I don't think lower cost is necessary- you'd want it to remain in your hand for a while, not play it as soon as possible. Therefore, I would increase the stats. Forsaken having higher initial stats than Forbidden makes sense to me, because of the increased growth, so I'd give it either 2|2, to make the two equal after waiting one turn, or 3|3, to make them equal after two turns. From these stats, Forsaken would be 2
(from 2 attack) + growth value or 3
(from 3 attack) + growth value, while Forbidden would be worth 1
(from 1 attack) - 1
(from upgrade bonus) + growth value (according to this thread (
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,16655.0.html)) The formula says growth is worth a +2 quanta cost, however I feel that Forsaken's growth should be worth +1, due to the fact that it's weaker. Thus, Forsaken would be worth 3
(2|2) or 4
(3|3), while Forbidden would be worth 2
(1|1)
... Well, that's what the formula says. I feel that Forbidden is fine as-is, but Forsaken should be altered as I suggested (probably 2|2 for 3
)
